We had the good fortune of connecting with Honey Ward and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Honey, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The thought process behind starting my own business was to fill a void within the community by providing goods that are actively in demand all while establishing a reputable name and model that would carry for years to come.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Please tell us more about your career:
•The Pink Zebra Boutique is a retail collective space that houses over 20+ independent clothing designers + brands . We also are home to private service providers in the fields of beauty. In addition we have established a reputation for event hosting + Pop Up Shops. We are a platform for the creative professional community .
Established in 2004 –
What sets you apart from others, what you are most proud of or excited about:
•Our unique business model + concept sets us apart from the retail norm.
•I am most excited about empowering our community of entrepreneurs by providing a platform for them to display their goods in an established and supportive environment.
How did you get to where you are today professionally:
•Thru perseverance, the guidance of GOD, belief and professional consistency. Utilizing resources such as the internet and social media. Being reliable and carving a lane of servitude that our clients can rely upon.
Was it easy? If not, how did you overcome the challenges? What are the lessons you’ve learned along the way:
•It wasn’t always easy. There was a lot of learning along the journey and still is ! You have to know when to pivot. When to sit down what’s not working and try something different. Do not be afraid of change.
What do you want the world to know about you or your brand and story?:
•We’ve remained authentic since the day we opened our doors and we’ll continue to stand on integrity for the duration of our career. You can count on that from us.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
During a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc:
•While visiting Atlanta you must make your stops at Ponce City Market for your multi eatery fix. The beltline is another must do location if you’re looking for a scenic stroll with the locals. MCK Restaurant as well as Whiskey mistress bar for weekend night life engagement. High Museum for the cultural art fulfillment. Phipps plaza for your high end luxury shopping. Colony Square for a variety of one of a kind eateries.
Just to name a few ….
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I’d like to take the time to Shoutout the creative community of Atlanta. The independent clothing designers, the jewelry makers, the online e-commerce brands, the resilient pop up shop goers. You all have been a pivotal part of The Pink Zebra Boutiques ongoing success and presence.
