We had the good fortune of connecting with Holli Bell-Tells and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Holli, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think about risk as a test of your own Faith. I believe that in life we all will have to take some risks here or there one day. Risk taking have played a major role in my life and career. I took a risk to walk away from Corporate America and become a full-time Entrepreneur. I knew that there would be days where I would work and push myself harder than others, but that was a risk I was willing to take in order to lean on my own Faith and God’s understanding on my life. I was well on my way to becoming an attorney (which is still a goal of mine as well), but I risked it all for my love of food.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I am full service caterer. I hand make and design all the sweet treats and I cook all my catered meals from scratch. Everything is homemade with love and passion. I’m most proud of myself because I built my brand, business and clientele up by being my authentic self. I’m up front and very professional. I got to where I am today professionally by staying consistent, punctual, and never giving up. Even if that meant only having one customer a month. It was not easy, but I held on to my faith that this is what I’m supposed to be doing and I’m going to do it regardless. I’ve learned along the way that being an entrepreneur is one of the hardest jobs I’ve ever had, harder than my time in the military! I want the world to know that if I can make something from absolutely nothing then so can anyone else. Stay true to your gift, your skill, and yourself. Never change who you are, what you are doing, or how you are doing it because someone else thinks you should. Last thing I want the world to know no matter what you are doing Set Your Price and Live Your Life!
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I would take my best friend to get drinks on Broadway and take a walk down the river walk looking at the Chattahoochee river. We would relive our childhood favorites by visiting the local old fashioned candy store, which is also located on Broadway. I would plan us a girl’s night to hangout inside a warm, comfy Igloo tent downtown Broadway as well. We could go visit some local small owned businesses and boutiques in the area to do a little shopping.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout my husband, Rodriquis Tells. He steps in and helps me out tremendously. He makes sure all my work space is clean and cleared, he washes any dirty dishes left behind, and he is the calm to my storm when I’m busy and overwhelmed. He also travels with me to help ensure I get the job done proficiently and professionally. He steps in and help pack and unpack my work truck at my delivery locations and always help me with all my heavy lifting. He constantly telling his customers about my food and my business which helps bring me more clientele as well. He deserves this shoutout and ten more because not only is he my husband, but he is also a team player, a taste tester and a true HolliMade Catering and Creations supporter.
