We had the good fortune of connecting with Hillary Urgelles and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hillary, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I’m originally from Venezuela, and I’ve always been passionate about art and creativity. I studied Social Communication, but my love for photography started even earlier, when I got my first camera at 16. Since I was young, I was taught the value of hard work and the importance of pushing myself to achieve my goals, which has always motivated me to keep growing and striving for more. That drive, along with my perseverance, has helped me achieve many of my goals and keeps me striving for more. Through my work in photography and content creation, I’ve found a way to blend storytelling with visual art, creating meaningful connections with people and brands.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Throughout my career, I’ve faced ups and downs, but I’ve always dedicated at least one hour a day to my project because my passion for art drives me to keep going. I spent two years in Miami seeking new opportunities to grow in my craft, and while I know challenges will always be there, with discipline and God’s guidance, I know I can overcome them and stay focused on achieving my goals.

What I want people to know about me is that my purpose is to help others improve their businesses through my art. My work has the power to transform, connect, and strengthen brands, helping them achieve their goals in an authentic and creative way.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend were visiting, I’d want to show them the hidden gems of Atlanta, away from the usual tourist spots. I’d take them to The Battery for some fun, then drive by the Jackson Bridge for a scenic view. We’d visit downtown Alpharetta and Decatur, which are some of my favorite spots. There’s so much character and charm in those neighborhoods. Atlanta really stole my heart the moment I moved here, and I love showing people just how beautiful my new home is.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to my amazing clients, who trust me to bring their vision to life. Being part of their journey, whether it’s capturing special moments, building their brand, or helping them connect with their audience, means everything to me. Their dreams and hard work inspire me daily, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to contribute to their success through my creativity.

I also want to give a special shoutout to my business partner (Luz Reyes), with whom I’ve built an incredible team capturing wedding photography. Together, we’ve grown so much, and now we’re taking the next big step by opening our own studio, LightHill Studios. I couldn’t ask for a better partner on this journey
