We had the good fortune of connecting with Hilik Haviv and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Hilik, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
In today’s world, where everybody is “an expert”, coach, blogger, foodie, and… a social media manager, the real face of the industry is uncovered. The fact that everybody is a social media user this way or another, underestimates the depth of the industry. If you are actively posting on Facebook or even boosting your posts every once in a while, it doesn’t mean you know the depth of Facebook Advertising. Social Media Advertising is a skill that requires hours and hours of training to help you find your target audience, retarget efficiently, and optimize the conversion of your audience into customers. YouTube advertising is different that Facebook advertising which is different than LinkedIn advertising which is different that Instagram advertising. Each network is different in its settings, in its audience, in its advertising, and in the way it should be (daily) managed in order to bring results. We often get requests from potential customers that want us to manager “all networks” for them, thinking they are all the same. People are unaware that to post the exact same content on different networks (for example: Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn) requires us to create different dimensions, adjust the captions, use/search the correct hashtags or accounts to tag and adjust the posting times to optimized reach and engagement. One message to all audiences is one of the biggest mistakes of marketing.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
HVMA Social Media started as just another social media management company. We were “forced” to change the description to Digital Marketing agency as we found out that this term is more recognized by the potential customers. But that also ringed the bell for me in terms of providing a real value. For a few years we focused on the content creation, satisfying the followers, and the customer-service provided to our customers as a part of nurturing them. We were not special at all in my opinion, but it was good for the beginning. I believe the best way to succeed is to be (at least) one step in front of your audience (or the market). When you see a great and successful campaign out there, keep in mind there are people who thought about it months in advance and prepared for launching it at the right time for you to follow and react to it the way you do. This thought, together with reading the market correctly, lead HVMA Social Media to take a turn and level-up our activity by entering the data world and focus more on marketing campaigns with a clear goal of converting online audience into customers. HVMA Social Media today is a Data-Driven Social Media Marketing Company who uses data analytics to determine behavior. We identify your target audience and create campaigns that fits your needs. Unlike other digital marketing agencies, we relay on the data. We are a data-driven operation and we understand that brining results is not the most important thing to our customers, it is the only thing. We focus on results, we bring results, and that makes us special. In 2020 the average company… *Lost some of their long-term customers *Had to let some of their best people go *Realized there is no way to meet their goals *Was way behind on their desired sales and budget *Waited for funds and grants for short-term solutions. On the other hand, the five biggest tech companies in the world (like Amazon and Facebook) reported surprisingly healthy quarterly financial results in July: *Amazon’s sales were up 40% from the year before and its profit doubled *Facebook’s profit jumped 98% So what is their secret? Data. The reason these companies are considered the most powerful in the world is that they are all data-driven. They use data to build “audience profiles”, which helps them make better decisions in their daily activities, implement it into effective marketing campaigns, and close more clients… Data-driven marketing is a game changer and it is 10 times as important right now. The world has gone online, and data prices exceeded the price of oil. Getting these two factors together, gets me excited to go to the office every day and continue developing our future knowing we are moving in the right direction.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Such a tough question as there are so many great places I would recommend. For a hungry friend, I can recommend Marietta Fish Market near Marietta Square, Fogo De Chao in Buckhead, or Twin-Peaks sports bar on Piedmont (especially on a game night). For more authentic feeling, I throw in the mix also Fat matt Rib Shack on Piedmont avenue. For other attractions, as a sports fan, I am always into any Atlanta Hawks games, then Atl United, the Falcons, the Braves and others. I think the stadiums and facilities are amazing. Fox theater is definitely one of my favorites as well. The classic atmosphere together with great performances, in my opinion, are great for a perfect evening. MLK center is a powerful place. The Aquarium and the World of Coca Cola Center are great tourism locations. In general, I’m a fan of the city and every time I pass those mid town and downtown towers I’m excited to a part of it. If taking a ride a bit out of the city to Douglasville, I can recommend Champs’ Clock Shop. An Amazing selection of clocks in a rare looking shop. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Different stations along the way are contributing to any success story. It always starts with the close family and friends who provide the trust and support especially during the early stages. But on the way, and as you continue to develop your organization and shape its identity (and the product/service you provide), it is the industry experts who influence and help you reach new levels.
