Meet Hensleys | Indie punk band in Atlanta

We had the good fortune of connecting with Hensleys and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hensleys, why did you pursue a creative career?
Our drummer doesn’t even own a drum kit, so we have no idea. He just learned on Rock Band a decade ago and now i guess practices in his head or not at all. He’s pretty good, though. The rest of us do own instruments and love playing them. When you put us all together, we really have no choice but to play music.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Our individual commitment to the band and the different perspectives we bring to it. Everything is a shared effort – the songwriting, the recording, the promotion, the dedication. We mesh well together and really are proud of the music that we put out and perform.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
East Atlanta Village – you gotta eat at HENSLEYS favorite Grant Central Pizza. Go catch a show at The Earl or 529. There are some other great spots to eat there and it’s a great place to hang out.
Also we’d take them to a Hensleys show.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Patrick Doherty – we met him playing shows with his band “Canary Affair” and he also runs Racquet Room recording out of his home. He records live performances there and also does studio recordings. Great part of the Athens music community.
