Meet Heather Wright | Attorney

We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Wright and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Heather, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
In any business there are two factors, running the business and doing the work. As an attorney at a large firm, I liked the work, but had no control over how the business was run. I wanted to do both. I wanted to direct the “why” of my law practice as well as the “what.” So, for me, starting my own practice allowed me the flexibility to pick my own clients, pick the kind of cases that I wanted to work on, and to learn about how to serve others while also making a living. I wanted to be a shot-caller and the best way to have that freedom is through entrepreneurship.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
It is all about character. My team is built on the character of each of the individuals in our Firm. Each of us has the competence to do the work, but it is how and why we do it that matters to our Clients and Colleagues. We operate with four ideas in mind: Service, Integrity, Sacrifice, and Tenacity. We can all do the job, but we go the extra mile in all phases of our practice. We want to show others that we can be trusted to carry their most heavy burdens and we do it with love, not just aggression. We want our Clients to KNOW we are there for them.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Our Practice is in Buckhead, so that is where we spend a ton of time. That said, Atlanta is so diverse that you cannot go wrong here. We have our roots in Buckhead and its business community, but we spend time in the entire Metro area because we have clients, friends, and collegues in all the metro counties.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are truly too many to name…my high school teacher, Claire Ogle MaWhinney who taught me how to give my best at tasks that I hated just as much as those that I loved; Judge James Bodiford who told me that I would always be successful because I was a hard worker; Diane Woods who taught me how to let my heart and spirit be intricate in the work that I do as a guardian ad litem; Andee Hastings who taught me how to be relentless in pursuit of a goal; Elizabeth Gill who taught me how to run a business like a CEO and encouraged me to pursue excellence; and Vickie Kealy who works with me daily and teaches me how to never quit.
