Meet Harvey Roman | Photographer and Video Creative

We had the good fortune of connecting with Harvey Roman and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Harvey, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I always knew there was something special in me. Something I had to show the world. I’ve always had a creative mind and soul. I had to find a way to showcase it and that’s when I fell in love with photography and videography. Another big passion of mine is creative directing. It’s fascinating coming up with concepts, building the sets, scenes and creating an alternative universe within this one. Blows my mind every time. I believe you can express your art in many ways and not just one.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What sets me apart from others is the way I can express things visually. I already imagine a music video just by listening to the song or I can just be going for a walk and imagine a full production out of nowhere and I think that’s fascinating. That’s why I always keep a little notepad and a pen. It’s important you write down those ideas. It took some time to get to where I am today and although it was hard, I never gave up. Even when I thought I wasn’t capable of making it happen. I’m still growing and ready for everything. One of the most valuable things I’ve learned throughout my upbringing is that patience is key, but actions are very important and go hand in hand. What I want the world to know about me and my story is that you have the power to do anything you put your mind to and that you can do a lot more than you think with what you have and are right now. It’s something that takes time, but will be worth it in the end.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I love Downtown and Midtown Atlanta! So, we would start by having breakfast at Atlanta Breakfast Club of course. Then, we would head over to the Georgia Aquarium. I’m obsessed with how big it is and all the different things you see and can do. We’d pretty much spend most of our day there and later eat at DaVinci’s Pizza. Best pizza in town, no doubt. Then, we would end our day at SkyView Atlanta and look over the beautiful city.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to dedicate this shoutout to my friends and family for their endless support and for not doubting me a single second. Specially my mother. Who has always believed in me since the very beginning.
