We had the good fortune of connecting with Hannah Patten and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Hannah, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
I used to be all about the girl boss life, I would work from 5AM to 10 PM without blinking an eye. Now, I have realized that a lot of what I do doesn’t really even need to be done. I enjoy life a lot more, I take in the little moments but I have also figured out how to handle the work load. Before it felt like there was always something that needed to be done but now I have set my focus on the important things which has in returned allowed me to just enjoy life a little but more
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
The pandemic changed a lot of lives, mine included. I think it began when I didn’t get to do the whole graduation thing like everyone else gets to do. It still makes me sad thinking about it. I developed this new mindset, like I worked so damn hard for 17 years to get that one little piece of paper and then I didn’t even get to celebrate all my hard work. I think my mindset shifted right there, from you have to work hard because this is the only life you have to be successful to you have to enjoy life and embrace it because you only have one life- and if you can do that then you are successful
.
Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Oh boy! This is hard one, considering I live on a boat in the Bahamas, I think I would take my friends to all my favorite dive spots and cook them fresh fish we catch together 🙂
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I think I would have to give my shoutout to my friends. I truly wouldn’t be who I am if it wasn’t for their constant motivation and them always being there for me
