We had the good fortune of connecting with Guillana Socorro and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Guillana, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
One important factor behind success in my life is my authenticity. I have learned that embracing myself, my values and my imperfections allows me to know myself and learn how to grow to become the best version of who I am. Rather than living for others or living to be like others, I have grown to fully love who I am and the journey I’m on for self-growth and fulfillment. Hopefully, I can bring this mindset of authenticity to the people around me and cultivate an environment where people can feel vulnerable enough to stay true to who they are and uplift each other while celebrating our differences.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
The way I express myself is through my photography. During my photoshoots, I aim to exceed my client’s expectations by setting the standard for an uplifting and communicative environment to positively impact my client’s confidence and in turn do my best in capturing and curating attractive, aesthetic photos. I’m most proud in how I handled my recent first wedding photoshoot.

This task required me to not only gain my client’s belief in me, but also gain my belief in myself and my abilities. I loved being able to put my creativity to the test, interacting with my clients & their guests, as well as capturing a pivotal moment of the couple’s life.

I think that my self-confidence has empowered me to grow and lead me to where I am today. I believe that staying positive is a vital aspect in overcoming challenges, as well as taking time to act on self-care practices for my mental & physical health such as going to the gym.

I learned that positivity and a growth mindset can take anyone places and reach goals. By being an uplifting, genuine and receptive person, I can attract people to meet and work with me. I want the world to know that I am self-assured in that I am confident in my capabilities and desire to consistently live authentically and be proud of who I am.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First, I’d start our days at delicious breakfast restaurants such as Toast on Lenox for delicious waffles as our breakfast for champions! Each day will have one fun activity! Starting on Monday, I’d start with the famous World of Cola as this is one of the largest tourist attractions in Georgia. My friend & I would make our own delicious colas to enjoy. Next, on Tuesday we will go to piedmont park to have a photoshoot and picnic. By the end of the day, I’d hope that piedmont park would have some kind of live music or community-based events we could enjoy. Then on Wednesday, we will visit the Andretti Indoor Carting and Games for some indoor fun where we would look forward to rope courses or even bowling! After, on Thursday we will go to High Museum of Art where we can admire art as well as take our own pictures for Instagram as well! Friday’s are fun days! Throughout the weekend (Friday-Saturday) we’d go bar hopping throughout the city of Atlanta such as Sky Bar for a great ambience at a rooftop bar. On Sunday, we’d be able to relax and enjoy a calming wine tour! One amazing part about Atlanta is that there is SO MUCH to do. There’s an adventure waiting every day for people to enjoy!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I want to give a shoutout to my parents for not only being present in my life growing up, but also being actively engaged in my life. My mom & dad have made a positive impact on my life through spending time with me, supporting me and teaching me valuable lessons. One quote they shared with me that influenced my view on the importance of authenticity is this: “What does it profit a man to gain the whole world and lose his own soul?” This quote serves as a constant reminder for me to live for myself & maintain my values in all my interactions with the people around me, rather than living for others & sacrificing my values and therefore losing myself and who I am. I aim to carry myself with confidence in who I am and be proud of myself for overcoming obstacles and finding fulfillment in the areas I’m passionate in. No matter what, I want to be true to myself and not change for the people around me just to please them. Rather, I will change my environment to find people who genuinely cherish, support, respect and value me and my worth.
