We had the good fortune of connecting with Graham Farrar and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Graham, how do you think about risk?
Thinking about risk is hard, I believe that it’s all a mental battle with taking risk. Taking risk is one of the hardest things to do as a business owner, It can completely change your life, but taking risk is an adventure in disguise. Taking risk has affected me and my business because it’s helped change how I view photography, like taking a risk and traveling to other state to shoot clients. To sum it up, Never stop taking risk, it could change your life.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art is capturing things on film, whether it’s a portrait for a headshot or getting the game winning touchdown on film, I always try to tell a story through my work. I’m most proud of the connections i’ve made. I’m extremely lucky to have met some of the people I now look up to. Getting to where I am know was a challenge, the hardest part is starting out. Theirs so many talented artists who have amazing work they’ve done and it’s hard to compare yourself to them. The biggest lesson that i’ve learned is to never give up. It’s extremely easy to lose interest because you aren’t getting anywhere. Never give up on something you’re talented in. Things never come easy, if your starting out with anything, never give up.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Best place to visit for fun is a Braves game, i’m a huge fan of baseball and it’s always fun at a braves game, or another good spot is the mercedes benz stadium to watch either the falcons or Atlanta united play. some good restaurants are True foods, a heathy Fresh restaurant or the Loving hut.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to shout out my family who’s always supported me while I was starting out and giving me advice along the way, but more specifically I want to shoutout my sister, Josie. She actually was the reason I started my career, She’s in high school film program. I’ve always looked up to my sister, Josie. She’s the reason why I continue to strive to become a better photographer and videographer. Thank you Josie.
