We had the good fortune of connecting with Goddess Grace and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Goddess Grace, how do you think about risk?
Risk and courage have proven to be the golden pair in the way to the success and manifestation of everything i’ve accomplished within my life thus far. As a hyper-sensitive, deeply intuitive being, the element of risk is the most radical aspect of my personality, and nearly every major decision i’ve ever made, specifically as a business Owner- was a grand risk in which i had to manually shifted my internal fear to that of courage. What most fail to realize though, despite a strong need for a courageous spirit who is willing to take risks- is the intuitive awareness also needed to be able to discern which risks to take and not to take. I often say: “There is a smart way to fail, and an unproductive way to fail. Taking blind risks without mental, spiritual and physical preparation is the ultimate way to ensure the failure you seek to avoid.” If you are going to risk failure, it must be an educated and well-researched risk, but even more significant; it should ALWAYS be an intuitive risk. I move on inspired action only. That is the core belief of my unorthodox lifestyle. It is something i have learned to accept wholeheartedly as apart of who i am, and anything i “miss out on” due to it’s inability to first resonate with me on a soul-level, simply was not meant for me. That is an active belief i very practically walk in every day of my life. If it doesnt inspire me, if it doesnt move me, its not for me to pursue. I believe in listening to my ancestral spirit guides to guide me according to my own soul’s unique purpose in this lifetime. Simply put: If it doesnt move me, i’m not moving. Most people tend to believe that hard work & blind risk taking will guarantee that you reach the goals you are going after. Work hard, work long, take risks.. and you will eventually achieve what you set out for. Reality is, working aimlessly without intuitive direction is usually rooted in guidance from others- societal or otherwise. Inspired action however, sits you down so you can listen to the unique instructions your spirit wants to reveal to you in order to set you on a path that is uniquely yours. The inspiration in inspired action comes from that spiritual nudge inviting you to act in the direction that feels most right to your soul in that moment. This doesn’t always mean it will be the EASY route; in fact, many times the inspired action will very well be tough, but it will also feel right and fulfilling, even as you embark on said action. Inspired action gives you the inner peace to know this is the right decision. It feels light. light and right, even if it requires more work from you. Inspired action will take you further toward your goals than any man made effort that tells you to “follow this route” for success that won’t even be fulfilling to your soul if you do in fact happen to achieve it.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Free Spirited Black Woman is an exclusive lifestyle community of aspiring & experienced soul-based Entrepreneurs & like-minded soul-sisters. We aim to support Black Women Entrepreneurs in mind, body & spirit as we support each other in designing our ideal lives. We teach women how to: “Embrace the divine feminine within you”. The FSBW Community was my aquarian vision of connecting spiritual black women professionals, and bridging the gap between all those within the spiritual & wellness communities that offer soul-based products or services. Creating FSBW was also an effort to bridge the gap between business, spirituality & wellness through creative expression and strategy. The journey of Entrepreneurship gets so difficult at times, and is often a lonely road; i wanted to provide not only holistic tools and resources for holistic growth in every area of an Entrepreneur’s life, but also communal support and a chance to build with other like-minded souls as we take on this journey together, helping one another achieve the soul-fulfilling life we dare to envision for ourselves.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am originally from San Diego, CA. and have lived in Atlanta for about 2 years now. As a former Flight Attendant and Traveling Nomad, i have been to nearly every corner of the earth, yet even with that said- nothing compares to Atlanta. Atlanta is my favorite city in the world, literally. The vibes, the southern hospitality, the black progressive culture and the warm energy of the city make me feel at home, as if my soul belongs here. I love to introduce out-of-state family and friends to Atlanta, as the A has something for absolutely everyone. From the Hipster metaphysical vibes in Little 5 Points, to the conscious/wellness community in the West End. From the dope ass entertainment in the city center, to the various nature trails and natural water springs just outside of Atlanta in Flovilla. Atlanta is truly a gem. The “hustle & build together” mentality of local business Owners, the roaring HBCUs, the Georgia Aquarium & Botanical Garden, the festive farmers markets, the yummy plant-based restaurants like Tassili’s Raw Cafe and the hottest lounges with a variety of international cuisine like Ike’s West African Cafe & Grill…. I could go on for days! The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I must give a shoutout to The Free Spirited Black Woman community. FSBW is an exclusive lifestyle community of aspiring & experienced soul-based Entrepreneurs and like minded soul sisters.
