We had the good fortune of connecting with Glow Monroe and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glow, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Athens, Tennessee. I lived in Georgia since I was three years old. I was raised on the southside of Atlanta by my mother and growing up watching her work hard and being independent, it impacted the way i approach my life. As a kid, I connected with music of the past and present. I vividly recall my mother introducing the sounds of female rap pioneers such as Roxanne Shante at a young age. I use music as a form of self expression and as a creative outlet, rapping about the woes of adolescence and my coming of age story.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In 2015, I first stepped foot in the booth and never looked back. I became apart of a rap collective called 100 House Entertainment started by Blame Parkway. Unfortunately, Blame Parkway passed away June 13, 2016. The remaining members of the rap collective 100 House Entertainment included my husband 2wotone, and I. We decided to incorporate the brand and sign new artists to our independent label. This journey has not always been easy including balancing work life, college, and my music career. In 2019 I decided to go to SAE Institute for audio engineering so that i could learn how to engineer myself to industry standard. In 2020 during the COVID pandemic I decided to quit my job working at State Farm and pursue my music career full throttle. I have now accomplished more in my music career than ever before. I started my own business to produce income and I invest all of my income into my career. I went on my first tour last month, and I have also worked hard on producing my own music. My views and streams have increased by a land slide and I’m on multiple online presses. I was also featured on the web series The Gift of Gems as a lead actor. The more challenges I face in life, the more time and effort I put into my music career. Dance in the rain.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite places to eat are The Vortex, Tacos and Tequilas, and Maggianos. Cirque Daiquiri Bar has the best drinks. My favorite activity to do is bowling at Bowlmor Lanes in Atlantic Station. My favorite night club entertainment is Diamonds Club,
