We had the good fortune of connecting with Glenn Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Glenn, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I truly believe if you never take a risk in life, you’re not living and enjoying life to it’s fullest potential. To me that is not living life that is surviving life. I have been a risk taker all my life because I wanted the respect of my older brothers. When one of my brothers was drafted for Vietnam in 1966 i volunteered in 1973 simply because I wanted to show I was just as much man as he was and that was a very big risk to take at that time. I learned alot when I takes risk in life and I grow with a much better understanding of my life and my purpose of being here.

Taking risk has afforded me the ability to use my own talent and how to communicate with others in a professional way on my own terms. If you don’t want anyone controlling what you say and how you communicate with others then you will need to control your own destiny and that doesn’t come without risk. I decided many years ago that I wanted to build generational wealth for my children, grandchildren, and their children but I could not do it by working someone’s else’s job so I took the risk by creating my own business with my music and inventions and growing it to build generational wealth for generations to come in my family. So to me in order to get the very best out of life sometimes will require to take risk and I don’t believe everyone is capable of doing that.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I am a songwriter, singer, musician trying to create my own style and it’s not easy to do if you’re not a professional artist and doing music full-time. I am a unique type of artist because I have other talents the I am pursuing simultaneously. I am also an inventor and although I am both inventor and artist and struggling with both, God has given me a vision I am committedto pursuing. Yes it’s scary for me to pursue this path because I have a responsibility to my children and I am barely making ends meet as it is but I had to continue because i believethis is what i am meant to do.

I came to the conclusion that I needed to work for someone else and the work must keep me in close proximity with what I am gifted in doing which hopefully will lead to me creating a business of my own with my own music talent, skills, and inventions of products. I had owned a taxi, limousine, house painting business, janitorial services, landscaping, pressure washing services, courier service, and shuttle service but they all pulled me further away from my dreams of what I wanted to do in life and I knew I had to find a job that would allow me to pursue my music and inventions with alot of flexibility.

So i took a job working in the music industry behind the scenes and that was a dream come true for me because it allowed me to learned so much about the bands, artists, setting up backline, seeing what a production manager do, sound checking, and so much more. I also got the chance to see what type of products individuals used in the industry to help them stay healthy while putting these shows together. It was a blessing to find work behind the scenes in the music industry and becoming educated which is an OUTSTANDING experience. I am a very unique artist because I am also an inventor which I was able to benefit from selling my product to co-workers. Without working behind the scenes in the music industry I would’ve never known as much as I do about how to set these shows up and dealing with other major players in an artist career as a performer, booking travel, pay, and interviews.

Working behind the scenes also made so wise until I own my own indie label, copyrights, publishing rights, sound recording rights/masters as well as owning my own band. Being an inventor with the types of products I have is a plus because individuals in the music industry uses my product to. Just to name a few of the people who has my product in all walks of life is Keith Urban, Jimmy Brown from the band “BRICK”, BEYONCE dance team captain, NBA HALL OF FAMER Dominique Wilkins, 13 time world champion HALL OF FAMER Tori SHO’NUFF Nelson, Glynis Albright of Glynis Kitchen, Dr, George Fraser, a five star publicist Desirae L Benson, and many more. I have wonderful people who love and appreciate my product and I have learned an extremely valuable lesson along the way, if you’re going to survive and have a successful business and a piece of mind, you MUST surround yourself with like minded people with integrity and honesty no exceptions. I promise you without that approach you will not survive and you definitely cannot do it alone.

I am a realist and I would love the world to know my music and my invention brand but above all, i mostly would like them to know that I am extremely humble, grateful, believe in treating others with 100% respect regardless of your status or background, and I am a God fearing man. I mean after all I am just a little country boy from South Carolina. I say this because I don’t ever want to forget where I came from because it keeps me humble, grateful, and hungry in trying to pursue where I am going.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love seafood, Mexican, soul food, and Chinese food so I would definitely take anyone who comes to visit me to the best restaurants like that.. I am not much of a drinker but there are some good sport bars that is pretty cool to hang out at. The biggest thing for me is going to the Zoo, Aquarium, museum, or riding on the bike trail. Being a country boy I just love the outdoors breathing in all the fresh air and riding my electric bike. These are the things I would share with my visitor but I must be honest and that is all of this would have to be put on the back burner if there is a good funk, blues, soul, or jazz band in the area.

Great music will always take first priority in any kind of activity I am involved in.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a very big shoutout to my older brothers which are my best friends and mentors. I just loss one of my brothers October 31/2022 and I wou.d like to dedicate this article to him because without him I would’ve never joined the Army and I would’ve never learned how to play the bass guitar.. This article is being dedicated to my late brother Mackie James Gordon a Vietnam Veteran and bass guitar player by me and my older brother Frankie Gordon Jr. These guys always looked out for their little brother.
