We had the good fortune of connecting with Ghost Hallmon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ghost, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
I’ve had very comfortable ups and very painful downs throughout the entrepreneurial journey. Making the decision to expect, appreciate, and embrace whatever inevitable challenges lie ahead rewired my brain from being an anxious prey to a vigilant predator. Approaching challenges with a “that’s it? what’s next?” mentality instills an almost unbreakable sense of confidence and helps cut out some of the emotional fat that often makes the process more painful than necessary. Life itself becomes more fun and adventurous, and that brings about a greater sense of joy and appreciation for even the little things. The resulting flow state significantly improves creativity and productictivity, because you fall in love with the game without feeling caught up in the rat race. Make the decision to willfully embrace challenge and recognize that as an entrepreneur, problem solving is just part of your job. Hell, is practically is your job. So have fun with it.

What should our readers know about your business?
I lead a video production, visual effects, and animation collective known as Hypernaut. While our team has collaborated on various projects as individuals before, we have only recently formalized into an official unit. We did so with the intent of using our collective backgrounds and skills to tell the plethora of original stories we want to tell. We believe that the true nature of the human spirit is encapsulated in stories. Whether they be historical, fictional, or mythological, stories shape how we perceive and interact with the world on both individual and societal scales. If you think of stories as a type of programming language, they have the unique ability to compress incredibly complex concepts into digestible, poetic parables that can provide a lifetime supply of food for thought. These make them powerful reality building engines. Through innovative and immersive storytelling we want to inspire others to rethink reality – or at least what they perceive as the boundaries between the physical, cyber, virtual, and spiritual domains. As we transition into an era where these realms become even more interconnected, it is essential that we as a species are equipped with the cognitive tools and models necessary to navigate this hyperspace and imagine the unimaginable change that will result from this singularity. While we’ve been able to express this somewhat through our client work, we’re now deep diving into our first original project. It will explore how impending technological advancements will affect society from day-to-day life all the way to larger geopolitical issues, addressing both positive aspects and potential concerns. We’re employing numerous cutting edge technologies into our production pipeline including real-time rendering, virtual production, and photogrammetry. Our projected release is early 2021.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My mom recently came to visit and it was her first time in the city, so I actually just had this experience. Some of our favorite spots included: – Piedmont Park – Atlanta Botanical Gardens – Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area – High Museum – Publix (Pub Subs are the BEST) Note: We’re both big outdoors people.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I think first and foremost I would like to thank my family, both immediate and extended, as my upbringing and experiences with them significantly shaped the foundation of who I am today. My parents catalyzed my creative pursuits, intellect, and discipline. My aunts and uncles helped sharpen my business acumen in their respective domains. My cousins have operated as both mentors and mentees that have improved my technical and leadership abilities. My grandmother and great grandmother inspired me to become anything I set my mind to. A major part of becoming “successful” is becoming part of a larger ecosystem and community of mentors, peers, and clients that make a particular market or industry possible. I’m grateful for all of those people in the various realms that I’m fortunate enough to be a part of. There are honestly too many people to name, so I’ve challenged myself to narrow down the list to the 20 (it was 10 at first) people I feel have made the most impact in my life within the past few years. In no particular order: Cheyenne Douglas Christian Davis (de Apollo) Ty Hobson-Powell Brendan McGregor Abdoulaye Sidibe Louis Deas Nolan Williams Carlos Vargas Mae Moss Dante Moss Jr. (Dali Rock) Harold Chisolm Keniece Walker Kamau Jahad Latonya Beverly Davinci Barselo ISpeakWithAGift $2030M Sevant Pillard Bizo Dr. Christopher Bass Like I said, far too many to name. But I love you all and am forever grateful.
