We had the good fortune of connecting with Gerald Howard and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gerald, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process was wanting people to enjoy and experience the different quality & flavors of food, I presented through social media. Most of my followers seen the food I was posting, but could never get there hands on it due to where I was working at. So my partner and I decided to make it official and start up Howard Cuisine, so everyone could come out and enjoy the experience.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
So I started my career back in 2011. I went to and graduated from Le Cordon Bleu. I started out as a cook working my way up the ladder. The next step for me was becoming a sous chef. The funny thing about that is at Le Cordon Bleu, I never imagined myself let alone wanted to become one. If there is one thing I can say about me is I love and never back down from a challenge. So around 2015 my executive chef was looking for a sous chef and said I and another chef had the skills for it. So I told myself in order to get to your next goal in life you have to accomplish what’s right in front of you. Long story short we battled for the position. I won the battle and became a sous chef and never looked back. I kept my foot on the accelerator. Now being a sous chef for 7 years learning the ends an outs of the kitchen. I’m now ready to take that next step in life and see what challenges await me.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
So I love spots that has a little bit of everything in them. For example Top Golf & Dave & Buster’s. You can eat, have a couple of drinks there, and enjoy the activities they have. Other places are if your into outside adventures I would go to Stone Mountain never really a dull moment there. Atlanta has something to offer to each and everyone preference.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My back bone would be my mom and dad. That’s how I started having love and passion for the business. Growing up seeing my mom in the kitchen aspired me to be the person I am today. Staying in the kitchen from prepping till watching the dishes. Being able to utilize different ingredients into every dish, set me on my path of being able to take risk and come up with an unstoppable mindset of anything can be accomplished. Till this today she is considered to be my sous chef in the kitchen. We both experience a lot of trials and tribulations together in the kitchen and I proud to say we have conquer every challenge that has been presented to us.

Second shout out I got to give is to my business partner and my family. They both have been there from day one handing out support and advice. Even we I was going threw my down and thought about giving up on my cooking career. They was always there with motivation, someone to lean on, and encouragement. They have been a big part of my success as I continue on my journey to greatness.
