We had the good fortune of connecting with Georgia Nubia and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Georgia, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Leaving my hometown. In my experience, you really need to leave your hometown to find who you really are outside of your family and childhood friends. Moving isn’t for everyone however I think it’s essential because it provides a different growth

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My poetry. My art. My brand is all based on authenticity, I am living every dream I have and I am honestly surprised so many people love my creativity. I simply put my heart on a canvas or in a poem. I started writing to communicate with my mother and I started painting to help with my emotions. I had no idea other people would believe in me to the point of helping pave a career for me. Khalid always told me I was up next but I honestly was afraid to even get loud on the mic. I later met a poet name Swisha and he told me to get loud….. they both have passed on but their lessons live through me. I feel like they are my guiding light in this and every day, I am blessed to build this legacy named Georgia Nubia. She’s the manifestation of all my dreams. I took the biggest leap of faith last year, I quit my job to be an entrepreneur and since I’ve been self employed, I now understand total faith. There are some moments I may not get actual rent money until after the 5th or sometimes, I may be hungry at an event praying I sell something from my table just so I can eat. I’ve hit financial hardships like no other however I have had some major highs, I think it’s one of those balances where you have to decide what you truly believe in and how far down or up the rabbit hole you will go. Every month I am able to do something I wasn’t able to do the month or year before and I am truly thankful to overcome each obstacle that comes my way. I will say this, entrepreneurship is not for the unmotivated person, there are times giving up seems to be the best thing to do but it’s not, you just have to trust the process
