Meet Geleta Parker | Published Author, International Speaker & Private Chef

We had the good fortune of connecting with Geleta Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Geleta, what do you want your legacy to be?
Great question, I can remember several years ago the Late Dr. Myles Monroe would say some powerful words! In a sermon, he versed the importance of dying empty! Dying empty simply means that every gifting, talent, or ability I am blessed with will not die and go to the grave with me it will be poured out with integrity and love into my family, community, and globally. My legacy is for people near and far who would’ve learned something and received that Omgigibee experience in something I shared, whether in the form of spoken word, authored books, decadent desserts, or gourmet dining. I want people to remember my creativity, my love, and my light. I want people to honestly say I left them full and well nourished in mind, stomach, and soul!

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My art comes in the form of writing and creating custom cakes! There are no two cakes that are the same as each decadent delight is creatively tailor-made for the client! Each cake is named as each cake has a unique character. Some clients call me the cake whisperer because many times I get creative clearance which means they leave every decision to me about the cake! 95% of the time I choose the correct color schemes matching the clients’ colors for their celebration without having any prior knowledge about my client’s decorum. Every client receives a personalized OMGIGIBEE thank you card as I serve so much more than cakes and I think it’s what sets me apart! I am passionate about creating, whether it’s tantalizing taste buds or the mind! My cakes and my books all whet the appetites for great conversations and provide nourishment. I published my first book titled Beautifully Broken in 2017 and published several others including two Children’s books Chef Gigi Saves the Day and Gigi’s French Bakery both with a fun recipe at the end of each story. All of my books are available on Amazon. My baking business started in a hotel room in the small town of Hopkinsville Kentucky in the thick of the pandemic and on lockdown during the critical illness of my mother. I started baking little desserts with the kids and sharing them with staff and other guests on lockdown! When I got back to metro Atlanta I would make cakes, cookies, and pies and surprise people locally for birthdays, anniversaries, or just because all for free! I would kick off later that year what I call “Holi-Dates” where my children and I would host and cook a 3 to 5-course gourmet meal for a few couples in my community. I host one in November and the other in December! People then started paying me for my services and refusing to accept them for free! Word got out on the Nextdoor App and OMGIGIBEE was created! I am humbled and so proud to be able to see my hard work pay off right now! It makes me smile when clients refuse to cut my cakes because they see them as works of art! The journey continues and it’s still arduous! My biggest setback was myself! I wasn’t confident in my culinary giftings because I am self-taught and so I would be under charge! When clients started tipping me ridiculously high tips I had to learn quickly what my worth is and how valuable my caketastic flair is! I drown every cake, every meal, every written or spoken word in integrity and love! It’s never shortchanged and I never use generic ingredients. I strive on presenting my best every single time whether paid or donated. The OMGIGIBEE brand is so much more than good-tasting food and decadent desserts! It’s a vibe, it’s a movement, it’s an experience! It’s true, OMGIGIBEE serves excellence one serving at a time! Say it with me OMGIGIBEE it’s the vibe for me!!!
