We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabriella Silva and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabriella, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
The inspiration behind starting this business was set behind the goal of empowering women. Our services not only invite clients into our space to feel good about themselves through our beauty treatments and techniques, but we are also a gateway for women to change their career paths. We offer training courses of all kinds to encourage women to invest in themselves in order to grow as professionals within the beauty industry.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
We are a semi-permanent makeup studio located in Marietta, Georgia. We offer everything from Microblading, Blush Lips, Eyelash Lift and Tint, Brow Lamination, and our signature Eyebrow Designs, to Glow Lip and BB Glow skin treatments. We strive to achieve natural beauty results. Instead of changing, our goal is to enhance your natural features.

I started in the esthetics world about 9 years ago, and never looked back. I realized I wanted to do more, and when I discovered semi-permanent makeup, the game completely changed for me. I found something that was missing in Atlanta, and I wanted to fulfill that need that so many of my clients were after- as far as their eyebrows go. From there, I continued to invest in expanding my knowledge on other semi permanent techniques like eyeliner, blush lips, and 3D areola tattooing.

The journey here wasn’t at all easy. I overcame so much to be where I am today, and I can say with confidence, that this is just the beginning. As our clientele grows, so does my desire to continue expanding. Our training classes offer other women the opportunity to change their career paths to becoming financially independent. The techniques I’ve developed over the course of 2 years is what I pass down to my employees and students. I say to all my students that this is not only a financial investment, but it is also an investment on how you use your time. I work tirelessly to perfect my craft, and that is the same mindset I hope to pass on to all of my students.

Today, we are a team of 13 artists and employees. All coming from different backgrounds and ethnicities. I take great pride in being a Brazilian, Latina, and a woman-run business. I always try to bring a little bit of my heritage into the studio through music, foods, and a whole lot of personality. I’m so proud of what we’ve created here, and I cannot wait to branch out into different cities, states, and countries. I want the world to know that this is just the start. I hope to open new spaces, welcome new artists, techniques, and opportunities wherever I go.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I love taking friends to Ponce City Market. They have a variety of foods, drinks, and desserts to pick from, and you can get right on the Beltline from there. My favorite restaurants in Atlanta are probably Bar Taco, DelBar, and Fritti- all right off of Inman Park. I also recently went to Clermont Lounge for the first time, and in a nutshell, possibly one of my favorite places for nightlife. You can also check out their rooftop for some nice views of the city, and go ahead and grab a drink or two while you’re up there.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would definitely say my family played a huge part in inspiring the start of this business. I was a single mom by the age of 21, and had to figure out a way to fend for myself and my daughter. That is how I got into this industry. Over the years my passion for esthetics and beauty techniques continued to grow. I took training classes, and knew that semi permanent makeup is where I was meant to be. In addition to the support of my family, a few challenges along the way led me into making difficult decisions, which in turn was a huge blessing. I wouldn’t be where I am today without the help of my family, or the challenges that led me to opening my first space as Gabi Brows and Beauty.
