We had the good fortune of connecting with Gabe Roziers and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Gabe, the decisions we make often shape our story in profound ways. What was one of the most difficult decisions you’ve had to make?
I think the most difficult decision I’ve made is distancing myself from some love ones in pursuit of my dreams. I’ve found myself in situations where I realized that it was more important to guard and protect my peace and vision than it was to make others around me comfortable. Not everyone means harm or is out to get you. You will actually have people who truly love you and want the best for you, but still not understand what it is you’re trying to accomplish. You do know that people can love you and still not have a clue about what they’re talking about right? They can be your biggest dream killers if you allow it.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Young Black Wealthy started out as an affirmation on a t-shirt. I started the line 3 years ago on my oldest son’s 13th birthday. We know that people sell t-shirts on every corner, but I felt like there was still room for us. I wanted to speak life to my son creatively through apparel, and here we are today. Today it has evolved from an affirmation to “The Standard”. We want you to feel empowered when you wear or use our products. YBW isn’t age or tax bracket specific. You don’t have to be juvenile or filthy rich to wear it. This movement is all about mindset and knowing who you are even when society throws the negative stones at you. We will be forever Young Black Wealthy.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you’re in my city. You have to make it your business to stop by the oldest HBCU in the state of Florida. Edward Waters University was founded in 1866. I just get excited when I think about the school’s rich history and the big things coming down the pipeline. You will be hearing a lot from this institution. They’re my family and have given me so much opportunity. I’m forever indebted to them. Ok, so now we can move on to everything else. Hang Out or Visit:

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shoutout my kids. I have family and friends that have really supported me over the years. None of their efforts or support has gone unnoticed. I’m always appreciative of the love. I don’t think anyone has pushed me like my three boys though. I’m the proud father of Champ (16), Hero (8) and Legend (2). My vision is always built around the legacy of my boys and my family as a whole. My favorite scripture is Proverbs 13:22. “A good man leaves an inheritance to his children’s children”. I’m already thinking about their sons and daughters. I’m a proud father and a praying dad. #champheroandlegendsdad
