We had the good fortune of connecting with Fryea Love and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fryea, is there something you believe many others might not?
That’s easy, I disagree with the premise that if you work hard, you’ll be successful. When I started my author career, I was working seven days a week. All that got me was exhausted. I’m now taking weekends off and releasing less often, and I’m making the same amount of money. As an old friend of mine used to say, work smarter not harder.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I write romantic comedy books. I’ve been writing since the dawn of time, but now is really the first time I’ve been able to embrace my super power. I’m funny. What’s held me back is that humor is subjective. Just because I make myself laugh, doesn’t mean I can make others laugh.

Fortunately, the reviews of my debut book have been positive. I love that so much. Making people laugh is such a wonderful thing to me.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
That would have to go to my friend and editor, Lily Luchesi. She’s been my number 1 fan for a long time. I couldn’t do any of this without her!
