Meet Francisco Valadez | VP of Brand Management Operations

We had the good fortune of connecting with Francisco Valadez and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Francisco, do you disagree with some advice that is more or less universally accepted?
Follow your passion.
Through the years, I have realized that what matters most are your skills and that people will in general have better outcomes when they maximize the effort focused on skill development and excellence rather than passion.
Following your passion is a very romantic notion that can yield poor results for an individual but with a very slim success rate. Example: a gifted mathematician who wants to sing because musicals are his passion. Fast forward 50 years and you can see the unutilized potential.
Be honest with yourself and identify what you are good at and not good at. People who get this early in life have an enormous advantage.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
My entrepreneurial background along with my ability to deal with people from many different backgrounds, cultures and personalities, helps me lead and keep my team accountable.
I was going through a rough financial situation in late 2018. Computers, software, commerce and tech have always come naturally to me (I used to fix all my family and friend’s gadgets and PCs!). In one of my businesses, I saw a need to aggregate data to make better decisions. This was right about the time we decided to add Amazon as one of our channels. From the first moment I learned about Amazon, I was hooked.
I started consulting on my own but soon realized that I needed more training. So, I started to consume every blog, video or website that had Amazon Seller Central content. Naturally, I ran into Steven Pope.
This led to me joining a webinar where I won a coaching call with Steven. We hit it off from the first minute and I could not had been more engaged!
At the end of my coaching call, Steven offered me a job and the rest is history.
I overcame the challenges by learning, moving forward and reaching out to people and organizations.
I want the world to know that investing in yourself and always learning new things that help you hone your skills will most definitely help you succeed in life.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ponce Market is my go-to. Love all the food offerings, especially the Japanese place.
Walking the belt line is a must too. My wife and I had a blast just walking and tasting different places.
For entertainment, I strongly recommend:
GA aquarium.
Any sports such as NFL, MLB or NBA. My wife and I attended a Falcons game and we loved the whole experience! Go Falcons!
The High Museum of Art is great, especially with kids.
Centennial park is a must as well.
Buckhead is the place for upscale shopping and dining.
Bonus – My wife and I fell in love with Jennis Ice Cream!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Steven Pope. I want to shoutout Steven for having founded My Amazon Guy and making it a merit based company that is obsessed about our clients. Steven has disrupted the e-comm agency space and pushes the boundary every day.
My wife. She is my rock, my support, and my sounding board. Plus, she takes incredible care of our two beautiful girls.
