Meet Four Square Entertainment | Multi-Genre Content Platform

We had the good fortune of connecting with Four Square Entertainment and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Four Square, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
To be honest, we started Four Square just trying to have fun. There wasn’t a “structure” to balance at the time. It was also around the early days of the COVID-19 pandemic, so we were mostly quarantined in the house. Therefore, we stayed up late and into the early mornings going over responsibilities, topics, etc. Once 2022 came and the world started opening up, we started adding more content and focused on creating a real structure of how we were going to produce and market our content. The biggest obstacle was aligning everyone’s schedules. Alex and Jeff work full time while Max and Lucas are finishing up school, it doesn’t help that we live in different parts of Georgia either. Lucas and Jeff edit the content as well, so it’s pretty common for them to stay up until 1 AM, then go to work or class the next morning.
Over the past two years; we learned just how long it takes to edit and market content, as well as study analytics to adjust what content to shift to. In an effort to improve time management, Lucas and Jeff will primarily edit content on weekends. Max and Jeff will post promotional clips during lunch breaks or right after work/class. Work life balance is something we’re still working on currently in our third season and will continue to as long as we do Four Square. It’s definitely not easy, but the reward is definitely worth the struggle.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Four Square Entertainment originally started as a podcast titled The Four Square Podcast. In season two, we rebranded to a multi-genre content platform now called Four Square Entertainment. Since then we’ve expanded to different forms of content such as: talk shows (After Hours), mukbangs (Local Munchies), and vlogs. What sets us apart is our authenticity. The purpose of The Four Square Podcast is to change the narrative of the male podcast as the viewers get to watch us grow and mature with each episode. That’s why the podcast doesn’t have a specific topic. After Hours and Local Munchies are extra content for people who enjoy watching and listening to us, but may not like the podcast format.
Starting anything isn’t easy, especially creating a multi-genre content platform while working or in school full time. It’s a lot of trial and error. Trying new podcast streaming platforms, learning how to read analytics and understand algorithms, and protecting the rights to our content were definitely some of the most challenging obstacles we overcame. Through time management, schedule coordination, and listening to the wants of our audience is when we started to get a handle on everything.
Throughout this journey, we had come ups and hardships for sure. One important lesson we’ve learned is understanding our limitations and avoiding burnout. During season 2 we had family vacations, work, and school delay dropping content multiple times. However, another aspect of delayed content that’s not talked about enough is creative burnout. There were a few times Lucas and Jeff just couldn’t look at the screen to edit anything because they were just tired of doing it. It’s really unfortunate when you start to dislike or even hate something you’re passionate about because you’re spending too much time on it while neglecting your own health. That’s why for season three, The Four Square Podcast is only 6 episodes so we can avoid burnout and produce better content. To supplement the reduced amount of podcast episodes, there will be more After Hours and Local Munchies episodes.
In summary, Four Square Entertainment is an up and coming multi-genre platform that focuses on authenticity. We want our audience to feel like they’re a “fellow square” and this could be them if they decided to do a podcast or other related content. The Four Square Podcast is a personality based podcast that focuses on changing the narrative of the male podcast one episode at a time. Four Square Entertainment presents: After Hours is an audio exclusive talk show that gets to the nitty-gritty of topics that are more controversial and deep. Four Square Entertainment presents: Local Munchies is a YouTube exclusive mukbang series where we shoutout local restaurants and vlog the food. We have something for everybody, whatever you choose you’re going to know the name Four Square Entertainment.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
As far as places to hang out and chill, we would recommend: Ponce City Market, The Battery at Atlanta, Little 5 Points, and Atlantic Station. Now for food, we just recommend them to watch our Local Munchies series. Some of the highlights from our series are: Birria El Gordo in Smyrna, Das BBQ in ATL, and Marietta Pizza Company in Marietta.
Also, if you like trap music and anime, definitely go to TrapSushiATL. They have a cosplay contest, a video game section where you can play smash bros. and other games, live performances, sushi, and ramen.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Four Square Entertainment would not be where it is today without 4 main people.
First, big shoutout to Taylor Nicole for creating our first logo. Not only did she create absolute fire with the few materials we gave her, but she did it in a relatively quick timeframe. Keep in mind that Jeff created the idea of Four Square Entertainment in April 2021; by July 30, 2021 we dropped our first episode featuring a brand new logo, intro, and outro song. She was definitely a catalyst for lifting season 1 off the ground for sure. Please reach out to her at @taynlay_designs_.
Speaking of intro songs, big shoutout to Paradise for the intro and outro songs for season 1 and 2. Part of Four Square Entertainment is showing love to local creatives, artists, and can’t forget munchies! When creating the intros for seasons 1 and 2, Lucas and Jeff made sure it was someone up and coming, since Four Square Entertainment was in the same boat. Who else to pick none other than the talented Paradise! Listen to his music on all streaming platforms and follow him @paradise_frl.
Secondly, big shoutout to Jay’s Gap House for expanding on the original logo and providing us with our official Four Square Entertainment shield and The Four Square Podcast logo. He worked tirelessly and showed us multiple designs until we chose what we have currently. He was definitely a huge help getting season 2 rolling. He also provided us with our shirts for the photoshoot as well. He truly is an honorary square as we had him on the show once, and he appeared in some of our other content. Reach to @jaysgaphouse, you won’t be disappointed.
Last but certainly not least, HUGE shoutout to Jeffrey Hughes Sr for being the photographer for our photoshoot with our custom t-shirts from Jay’s Gap House. That photoshoot put us on the map for sure, and some of the pictures we used in the last article were from that photoshoot. If you need a photographer for any event, reach out to @amateurphotomun.
