We had the good fortune of connecting with Fantasia Tellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Fantasia, how do you think about risk?
To be honest. Everything I do be a risk, from the smallest thing to the biggest thing. I always see myself bigger than what I am in that moment and want to advance myself to the next level. If I see a good opportunity for me I’ll pray about it and take it.

If you have a business, an actor/actress, in the industry and etc taking a risk is a part of your success. If you don’t make that move (if it’s a good one) you’ll be stuck in the same spot. If you fall down from that risk just know you’ll always bounce back :). Taking that step is courageous and the beginning of your success.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I have a business called, Fancy’s Exhibit. It was originally called, “HotGirl Palace” but I changed it in 2022. I’ve had this business since 2019.

Everyday I learn something. Running a business I feel like you’ll always learn something whether you’ve been doing this for years or just started. One of the biggest challenges I’ve had so far was patience. I’ve always had this but with a business it’s totally different. I’ve run into a couple of rude customers and it challenged me to be nice and just told them to have a great rest of their day. All money is not good money.

Besides patience, I’m learning how to communicate better. I really do love that because I’m shy and antisocial. I’m overcoming this as I attend more events and getting comfortable. Once I’m comfortable everything flows well.

I sell hair bonnets, jewelry, crafting (car air fresheners, and etc), sunglasses and self defense items. I started selling Hair Bonnets in 2019. This is what I’m mainly known for :). What made me want to sell this is because I’ve always had trouble finding a good bonnet. The elasticity would last a month or so and would have to go buy one again. They wouldn’t stay on my head. I found my vendor and it’s been up since 🙂

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would show her Cascades, The Mercedes Stadium and show her the classes small businesses have like body butter, candle making and rug making.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My mama. She’s not an Earth Angel anymore, she’s my Heavenly Angel. She was so courageous, smart, sweet, go getter and a great business owner. She’s the reason I fell in love with having a business. She was the best and still 🙂
