We had the good fortune of connecting with Evan “Coach Ev” Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evan “Coach Ev”, how do you think about risk?
Risks always come before the reward…

My personal approach is simple – I don’t make those crazy, knee-jerk decisions that most people call risks. I take intentionally calculated and well planned steps which I call “calculated risks”. I wholeheartedly believe that people must take risks to obtain success in life but risks don’t always have to be wild and sporadic… they can be as planned out as a you allow yourself to be!

I am where I am today because I have chose to always make small yet consistent steps!

What should our readers know about your business?
My business are built off of mistakes and transferrable skills I have acquired through the journey called life. I didn’t just start this to make money – I built them to be solutions for my people!

I am most proud of a few things -I have had amazing opportunities through the years to meet and connect with some of the worlds greatest talent however my “number one” thing is the fact that my book publishing company has packaged the brilliance of over 500 resources by black and brown people that have been release to the world. That is amazing to help brown skin brilliance come alive and live forever in the form of books.

I have seen these resources cement people as subject matter experts, create new streams of income, heal families, and remind the world that we have something to say!!!!

This has not been easy, being a multifaceted person who works hard and having to narrow down my focus (like many) was a place of great struggle. I believe that we do not have to trash our skills and desires but we do have to learn what is needed for the season we are in!

I want the world to know that I am here and I am here to help!!! That is. many people are not making strives towards their goals or dreams because they need help! I have been where you are – but I am committed to helping you get to your place called “there”.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite place in Atlanta is “Therapy Lounge” right off Briarcliff. it’s the perfect blend of vibe and chill! You can work or study, you can bring a date or you can have a nice evening turn up with friends all in one place!

Anyone coming to Atlanta is going to get the best local experience:
American Deli
JR Cirickets
Pasha
La Chingada.

You know all those places that the locals know about but the tourist dont!

Atlanta is unreal – everyday of the week you can find what you are looking for! It is truly a beautiful oasis of black!

My Parents!

They have given me the years of encouragement and support that I could never repay them for. Entrepreneurship isn’t easy, heck life is not easy but to know that I have a loving support system who enjoys being present means the world to me!
