We had the good fortune of connecting with Evan Anderson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Evan, what do you want your legacy to be?
If anything I want people to remember my kindness, I always aim to treat people very high no matter what or who they are. I am never afraid to lend a helping hand on any level, I want to see everyone thrive and I want to see everyone win and I will always try my best to aid someone in the process of doing so. I also want people to remember my uniqueness, I’ve always been told I’m one of a kind although I’ve never done anything other than being myself. I hope to inspire others to do the same, you don’t have to be someone else, always aim to be your 100 percent authentic self.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I feel sets my art apart from others is what inspires it. I try to pull from interactions or instances that I have emotions deeply rooted in and just let my mind work. I never force a design, it all tends to come naturally. I don’t even work if the energy around me doesn’t feel quite right. When I start a design I use a playlist titled “Feel Something” which is just music that stirs up emotions within me. I am most proud of my growth as a designer, I never foresaw myself heading in this direction with my brand and it feels right and I’m excited to see where it takes me. It definitely was not easy, not to discourage aspiring designers/brand owners but there’s a lot that goes into this, time, effort, and money. There are multiple lessons I’ve learned along the way but the most important is to be creative and most importantly be you, you are unique and you are special, don’t let it be forced if it’s meant to be then it will happen. I want the world to know that I had to find myself in this. It’s about doing what you love and then allowing the revenue to follow.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Anywhere downtown, I’m in love with the city. From Little five points to the ponce city rooftop it’s all beautiful and thriving with diversity. I would take them to the Georgia Aquarium, Hattie B’s, the clothing warehouse, and piedmont park. I love seeing all the different types of people there are in Atlanta, no two people here are truly the same and it’s a beautiful thing to see.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First, I’d like to thank my parents. My mother has always told me that I’d succeed in whatever I put my mind to and because of that I’m confident enough to try. My Father has always been supportive of me whether it be taking me to pick up blanks for samples or just accompanying me while running errands. Secondly, I’d like to thank my friends. They’re extremely supportive of everything I do and without their support, I don’t know if I could be as confident as I am in my endeavors. They’re all creatives too; photographers, poets, brand owners, artists, and singers. I also need to thank other loved ones in my life because they pushed me to be unique in this field which is something I really struggled with and without them I don’t think I’d be as special. I’d also like to thank fashion YouTubers such as thelifeofcashk and pappiiq, without them I would have never gotten into fashion.
