We had the good fortune of connecting with Ethan Orphé and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ethan, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
All I wanted was to be able to express myself and have conversations with people. Podcasting allows me to do that freely. I think at the end of the day art, no matter the medium, is about evoking emotional response that leads to starting a dialog the artist wants to have. All my decisions are in an attempt to fulfill those objectives.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Podcasting is a grind. It takes a lot of discipline. You make a lot of mistakes along the way and those mistakes will make you better. It took me a while to figure out what Hear Me Out was supposed to be about. I always wanted a Podcast that cause people to ask questions. I’m always trying to think of ways to start a dialog with people. I wanted to be able to a conversationalist and the biggest thing that has helped me get to where I am is actually not talking at all. Listening is the best skill you can work on in this industry. The moment you stop listening to others and digesting what they say you have limited your chance to learn. You have stunted your chance to find new perspective. I would say the biggest thing I want the world to know about the Hear Me Out Hosted by E Podcast is that it is just a collection of conversations with people I find interesting and subjects that I find captivating!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would most likely take someone to New Orleans for a week long excursion. It’s a city that gives you back 2x as much as you put into it. The people are as welcoming as they come. The local cuisine is something I don’t even have to get deep into about as it is already well documented how insane New Orleans food is. Any place that has drive thru Daiquiri spots will always be top tier. The history, art, and music will keep you coming back time and time again. New Orleans is a magical place. If you like to see all the wild things the world has to offer then stroll down bourbon street, however in my experience Frenchman street is where it’s at. 10/10 city.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The biggest supporters in my life are my family. My parents especially always allowed me to express myself and try all the hobbies I had interest in. They were with me for all the times I was unsure of myself, changed my ambitions, and took gambles on my dreams. So shout out to them!
