We had the good fortune of connecting with Erin Watkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erin, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?

I’ve always been the type of person who goes by the “beat of their own drum.” I’m an only child so I believe that’s had a part in helping me learn to depend on myself and do things on my own if needed. I played competitive tennis from the time I was little all the way through college and my dad was the main one who could take me to practices. I was about 10-12 years old when I was on the court practicing and he was giving me advice on how to hit a certain shot and I wasn’t having much success. During our conversation I told him that “I wanted to try things my way first.”

I’ve always bet on myself first so the decision to start my own business wasn’t anything that I took lightly. I knew that I would be successful if I put in the work like I have with everything else in my life. I’ve worked in corporate, had a 9-5 and worked retail where the schedule is anything but predictable. Being an entrepreneur is tougher than people realize. Having previous work experience in different fields has given me a lot of tools to deal with some of the rough patches that comes with being an entrepreneur.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

I’m a licensed realtor in the state of Georgia. I live in the Atlanta area so the metro area is where most of my business comes from, however, I am able to help someone in any part of Georgia who needs help. I specialize in buyers, sellers, relocation clients and those looking for investment properties.
My goal is to provide the best experience for my clients and make things go as smoothly as possible. I’ve had conversations with so many people who had bad experiences with other real estate agents. Going above and beyond to answer any questions they might have, listening to their wants/needs to give them exactly what they’re looking for and being knowledgeable about the Georgia Real Estate contracts are some of the things I do to give my clients the best experience.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I love going to the city to eat and hang out, but I’m a huge fan of being on the outskirts where there’s not as much traffic lol. Peachtree City, Newnan and Fayetteville are a few of my favorite places to go. I’m a huge fan of Mexican food so I’d take them to Azul Tequila Taqueria & Cantina in Peachtree City or Twisted Taco in Fayetteville. Their drinks are very good and the food is great as well. Other favorite spots to eat in the city and have drinks are Roc South Cuisine in Brookhaven (Brussel sprouts are AMAZING) and Mission + Market in Buckhead (the bread pudding and cream cheese pound cake are a MUST TRY)! Louisiana Bistreaux is a great place to eat and have drinks if you’re in the mood Cajun/Louisiana style seafood. If you like soup, then you have to try the Corn soup at Red Pepper Taqueria! It’s phenomenal!!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My parents deserve all of the credit and recognition when it comes to my success. They’ve truly been there for me and supportive of me since the day I was born. They sacrificed their money, time wants and desires to ensure that I had every opportunity that was within my grasp and for that I’m very thankful! They spent so many days and nights staying up late to help me with my homework, driving me to tennis tournaments/practice, cheerleading competitions, swimming lessons, etc. Whenever I didn’t feel like doing something, wanted to quit or was too tired, they were right there with me. They’ve shown me that it’s not always about spending money on people. Taking time out of your day to spend with someone and make lasting memories is what people will remember most. Without them, I wouldn’t be the person I am today.
