We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika Brown and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erika, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Over time I have learned the importance of being intentional in ALL that I do. One thing in particular, I am intentional about is travel. Being intentional about travel gives me something to look forward to. It’s also a form of rest for me! When I rest, it gives me more energy to do more when it’s time to get back to work!

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
I’m a living example of how even though the world can easily write your sentence one way, it doesn’t have to end how society often finishes it. I’m the daughter of a man that grew up sharecropping in the rural south and a woman that grew up the second oldest of 7 children living in a two-room house in Louisiana. I’m a black girl that grew up south of Dallas, that got pregnant before getting married and had to get a job before getting a degree.

I worked my way up in a Corporate job for many years before leaving to pursue my own dreams in Real Estate. With God’s grace, hard work, and learning from the people that I aspired to be like, I turned a career as a Real Estate Agent into a multi-million dollar Real Estate empire that provides jobs, empowers the community, and provides online education to help others write a different sentence too.

I’m so honored you’re here and my hope is that you’re inspired by my story and will be motivated to grab a hold of your own future success and allow me to encourage and help you along the way.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Day one: First stop: Grab a cup of coffee at Dancing Goats.
After a cup of coffee, we will take a tour of the Oakland Cemetery.
Afterwards, we will run to Highland Bakery to grab lunch. Their sweet potato pancakes are AMAZING!

Next Day:
Breakfast at Barney’s
Afterwards, head over to Lenox Mall to spot some local celebrities.
We will end the day with dinner at Del Bar at Inman Park.

Day 3-5:
Drive down to Serenbe and spend a couple days there soaking up the environment, riding horses, having a spa day, and eating great food.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My Fabulous Team: Erin, Ashley, Sandy, Kristen, Valerie, and Kimberly. I can’t thank them enough for their endless support to me. They work tirelessly to assist so many people in pursuing their dreams in Real Estate and Investing. We are a team of women that MAKES THINGS HAPPEN!

The other person, I desire to thank is Shawndra Onwuchekwa. She has been a supportive cheerleader throughout my entire journey. She always lends a listening ear. Her support of me is huge during this entire process. I can’t thank her enough.
