We had the good fortune of connecting with Erika and Shequila Duffy and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erika and Shequila, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Well as you know we are best friends and sister in laws one day Shequila was like we needed to start a business together we wanted to do something different that no one else around us was doing at the time everyone was either selling clothes ,lashes , hair, etc. We always attended the trap and paint whenever its in town we didn’t know to many in town like theirs so we started our own at first we wanted to just do trap and paints but eventually we decide to make each event differently so far we’ve done paint and pleasure ,trap and glow ,90’s party and couples night so you never know what are next event will be so that’s where the name Lit and Paint comes from we want our events to always be lit.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We are not your average sip and paint business. We host public events and private parties. Each drawing we do is different so we never paint the same thing twice. We have been able to sell out all of our events and we’ve only been in business 1 year. We wouldn’t be where we are today if we weren’t advertising and hustling getting our name and brand out there it wasn’t easy we started on eventbrite now you can find us on Groupon also, Lit and Paint we have reasonable prices we both work full time jobs so we not trying to break no pockets compared to other sip and paints we think our prices are the reasonable.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Anywhere in Atlanta is good there is so much to do and see in atl so we can’t just pick one lol.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Our customers we thank everyone that’s ever bought tickets from us they are our biggest supporter, also our vendors and big thanks to Tywanna she’s been there since we first thought of the idea she opened her doors for us to have our events at her location so if you ever need a venue she has 2 locations on the southside.
