We had the good fortune of connecting with Ephraim Woods III and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ephraim, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
The thought process behind starting Far From Rich Apparel was to build financial flexibility outside of my 9-5 job. I’ve never wanted to let a 9-5 be my end all be all, my parents always taught me that you need multiple streams of income if you truly want to build wealth and financial flexibility.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
The thing that I feel sets me apart is my creativity and attention to detail. I love thinking outside of the box when it comes to my releases. I always try to set a trend with each new item. I’m most proud of the fact that I have been designing/making clothes for over ten years now. Ever since I was a kid I always said I wanted to have my own clothing line and I’ve been able to make it happen. I got to where I am now through a lot of trial and error which did not make things easy but it did make things interesting for me. I was able to overcome the challenges just by staying focused and keeping a positive mindset through all the challenges. I want the world to know that my brand “Far From Rich Apparel” is based off of the idea that RICH is based on perspective.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Being located in St.louis a couple places we would go would include six flags, the delmar loop, the city foundry, and the riverfront/arch.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
It may sound cliche but I would like to dedicate my shoutout to my parents. They have truly shown me nothing but support in all of my endeavors with Far From Rich apparel as well as in all other aspects of my life. I can remember when they bought me my first screen printer for christmas while I was in college and ever since then whenever I have needed help or advice I’ve have always been able to count on them to be there. Although I don’t always make the correct decisions I can always count on them to have my back regardless.
