We had the good fortune of connecting with Emily Page and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Emily, is there something that you feel is most responsible for your success?
The most important factor behind the success of my brand – is remembering the value to the end user every time I build a piece of my brand. It’s easy to build from OUR perspective as the entrepreneur, but we forget to write our whole business plan, offer, marketing material from the perspective of the customer too often when we get busy. The more clarity we have on our end user and what we want their experience to be, the more addicting and memorable product development, marketing, sales, and customer service we can create.
What should our readers know about your business?
I am most proud of building a business from scratch – without taking out loans or going into debt. The process of bootstrapping isn’t right for EVERY business model, but it is an incredibly hard and purifying experience. You learn to build lean, eliminate things that create dead weight and you learn to hustle because there is nothing else but your hardworking and passion that can make it work.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First I would start out for coffee at: Muchacho which is right off the belt line and offers delicious boutique coffee. I recommend something exotic like the BLUE MACHA LATTE which is rich in antioxidants, color and flavor! Then we would go for a stroll in Piedmont park to talk about our exciting plans to grow our businesses! After that we must get cocktails! It’s time for happy hour at Whiskey Bird – who doesn’t love a little whiskey Southern style while meeting friendly people?! Then appetizers of hush puppies and chicken biscuit sliders at Hampton and Hudson. At this point we will have made new friends and be ready to head to bed!
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Teri Valentine, CEO of The Perfect Bite Co was my first mentor in entrepreneurship and place I was able to put in practice my strategy to help create growth. The Perfect Bite Company provides private label food recipe innovation and manufacturing for grocery stores all over the US.
