We had the good fortune of connecting with Emanuel Edwards and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Emanuel, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
I feel that risk taking is a requirement in order to lay claims to success. Risk taking has played a central role in my life and career. Only through taking risks am I able to learn more about myself and who I really am. When I reflect on my life and the places I’ve been, the people I have met, and the experiences I cherish most, it was only possible through taking risks. Risk taking is something that still challenges me and it proves to be difficult at times, but it is necessary. Here are some questions I asked myself when faced with taking a risk or not:

1. Does this risk reflect my values and beliefs?
2. Does this risk cause harm to anyone?
3. How would taking this risk better my life and help me accomplish my goals?
4. Will I regret not taking this risk?
5. What are the pros and cons of taking this risk.

It’s pretty simple, if the risk does not cause harm to anyone and the opportunities outweigh the bad. Do it. A life without risk is sad and boring.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
When people think of art typically clothing is not the first thing that comes to mind. One of the goals of the Goody Vault is to present vintage clothing and artifacts in a way to inspire and educate. Each item showcased in our showroom and online store is hand-picked and one-of-a- kind. What sets the Goody Vault apart from other vintage clothing stores is the experience that we provide. Our store showcases a wide range of well curated rare and unique vintage pieces presented in memorable fashion. We are most proud of the clients that we have around the world and for the embrace that we have received from our supporters. We are most excited about the future for the business and the opportunities ahead. The Goody Vault got to where it is by persistence, hard-work, and by building community. We have been intentional about building relationships and it is paying off. It has not been easy and there are new challenges each day but it is worth it. One of the lessons I have learned is to believe in yourself and your vision no matter what.
