We had the good fortune of connecting with Elsi Pacheco and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elsi, how has your perspective on work-life balance evolved over time?
Maintaining a work-life balance has been an evolving practice for me, one that has shifted dramatically over time. Initially, when I started my career, especially during my early days in the hospitality industry and as a teen mom, the concept of balance was more about survival and making ends meet. I had to juggle my responsibilities as a mother with my professional aspirations AND school, often blurring the lines between work and life. Something I had no choice to do at the time but also something that landed me in the hospital because of pure exhaustion.

However, as I transitioned into the world of marketing and eventually founded Link Up Level Up, my understanding of and approach to balance underwent a significant transformation. I realized that achieving success wasn’t just about the hours put in but also about the quality of time spent both in and out of work. The creation of a structured schedule and setting boundaries became even more important. It wasn’t just about working when I wanted; it was about creating an organized life that allowed for success and family time.

Today, I view work-life balance. This perspective helps me make decisions that support my well-being, my family’s happiness, and the success of my business. It’s a balance that acknowledges the need for hard work and dedication to my goals while also embracing the importance of rest, personal development, and time with loved ones.

Implementing boundaries (which is my 2024 word btw) has been key to this much needed shift in my life. They have helped me avoid burnout and ensure that I have time to recharge, which is crucial for maintaining creativity, motivation, and overall effectiveness.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
My business, Link Up Level Up, was born from a vision to make an impact not just on big corporations but on solopreneurs and small businesses. My commitment to custom branding and web design solutions capture the very essence of each entrepreneur’s dream. Our mission is deeply rooted in empowering businesses with the tools they need for substantial growth, driven by a blend of passion, experience, and a genuine understanding of our clients’ journeys.

I’m most proud of the transformational impact we’ve had on our clients’ businesses. Witnessing their brands come to life, through their values and aspirations, and then seeing them thrive in the digital landscape is incredibly fulfilling. This success is the culmination of decades of diverse experience, from managing restaurants to directing global marketing strategies, and eventually, founding Link Up Level Up.

Early challenges included navigating the transition from employee to entrepreneur, battling imposter syndrome, and mastering the balance between work and life. Each bump required resilience, a quality I’ve honed over years of overcoming personal and professional obstacles. These experiences taught me the importance of authenticity, strategic planning, and the power of a supportive community.

The lessons along the way have been invaluable. First, embracing authenticity in your brand’s voice and vision sets you apart in a saturated market. Second, resilience is not just about enduring tough times but also about seeing challenges as opportunities for growth.

I want the world to know that Link Up Level Up is more than a digital strategy and brand development agency. It’s a testament to the power of believing in one’s vision and the impact of genuine, passionate support behind every project.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
At this point in my life, I am all for a good old spa day. But it is not just any spa; it is a full-day experience with steam rooms, saunas, views, plunge pools, recovery rooms, teas, and great food and drinks. Once of my favorite places in CT for this experience is called Old Say Brooke Marina + Spa. Pure perfection.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
