We had the good fortune of connecting with Elliot Freeman and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elliot, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
As my videography and graphic design skills continued to increase, I began gaining more clientele as well. I started out by uploading my video work onto my personal instagram page, but felt that I should separate my personal page content from business. I didn’t want my name to be directly connected to my business either, so the name Fun Time Media was created because I enjoy capturing others having a fun time.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What I mainly enjoy doing is videography and graphic design. I have always heard the phrase, “A picture is worth a thousand words,” but I am a firm believer that, if done the right way, a video can have the same effect. I think what sets me apart from others is the way that I tell a story with my videos without having to add many words behind it. I still have a long way to go professionally, but one of the biggest lessons I’ve learned so far is understanding that it is okay to say “no”. The reason why I include “Enjoy every moment.” in my videos is because I want everyone to truly enjoy the times they have with each other and when they go back and watch a recap of an event they attended, they can see all the fun they had.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If my best friend was visiting the area, I would probably just take them around to visit our other friends that also live in the Atlanta area. In my view, some of the most fun places to be are around friends and family because I really enjoy fellowship. Outside of these places, I think Piedmont Park, Andretti, and Downtown Atlanta are all interesting places to check out.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
A few people I would like thank for their continued mentorship and encouragement are Sizwe Chapman, Stefan Harden, Arion Kidd-Weeks, Noah McMillan, Mikyle Dixon, and Richard Jones. Each of these men are very talented and have all been there whenever I needed constructive criticism on any content I wanted to produce. I want to give a special shout out to my cousin, Ayanna Culler, who is the one person who taught me to enjoy every moment. I would also like to thank all of my close friends and family for their continued support as well.
