We had the good fortune of connecting with Elle LeDuc and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elle, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Life! The gift of life; waking up everyday with appreciating the little blessings around us that are often unnoticed by others. My husband, my puppy, my family & friends, and most importantly, GOD. I’m inspired and so grateful for the opportunity to inspire others. I love hearing other peoples stories, tuning into their feelings, and am intrigued by all of our beautiful and unique differences that make us all so special.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I own a few businesses! But truth is, I’m an artist! Its incredible to have the chance to combine the two and have a career I absolutely LOVE!! I paint and style hair for a living! Its awesome! What makes Elle Rose Salon so unique is that I specialize in “big hair projects”. My clients usually have longer, thicker, and previously compromised hair. All they need is a little TLC and deserve for someone to devote time on them! That’s me! I want to help! My color services usually take about 3 to 4 hours on average. Healthy hair shouldn’t be rushed!! I don’t just “do” hair. I help create relationships with my clients so they feel cared for and well educated and are more confident with their hair!

Another business I own is “Elle Rose Salon Bridal Beauty” for on-site bridal and special event hair styling services. I’ve always had a special place in my heart for the bridal and wedding industry! I mean who doesn’t love love? Its such an exciting time in a brides life and I just get so excited being part of their big day behind the scenes. It can be stressful planning a wedding or event and hair should be the least of a brides concern. ! And no two brides are the same. It never gets boring or old! Styling event hair makes for such exciting and happy times!

I also create custom handmade hair accessories and headpieces for bridal, everyday, and special event or themed fashion/entertainment/editorial/photography sessions.

-None of this is easy. Its ALOT of hard and extra commitment behind the scenes no one ever sees. That’s why its called work!! But, I get to do what I love for a living. Its the best industry ever! I just cannot see myself doing anything else!! The biggest lessons I learn along the way so far, is to believe in myself and not to compare my work or vision to anyone else. To always stick to my guns and be careful who you let in your circle. Protect your work! And lastly, no one can do the work for you, you will get out of it what you put in. Perhaps you may not be recognized at first cus you’ve gotta always start somewhere; sweeping floors, accidentally erasing websites, learning the ins and out of work/life balances, fall a few times, but as long as you get up, each time you’ll become stronger. You’ll certainly start to feel the rewards. And try to never pour from an empty cup, burn out is real!! Always remember your “why”!

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Of course I’m gonna start by showing them my salon suite! Maybe give them a nice relaxing shampoo and blow out?! Sounds good huh! But of course I would show them around my fav spot, The Battery in Atl, its only a mile away from my salon! If you’re my friend, your more than likely going to love sports too, or at least attending live sporting events; so a baseball game at Truist Park could be on the list. Maybe grabbing a football game down at Mercedes Bens or a basketball game at State Farm Arena. I’d probably do all the fun tourist spots, like the Coke museum, Aquarium, and Stone & Kennesaw mountain too. If the “fast and furrious 5k” is going on, then we’d for sure be part of that too (whichever park is hosting it). I LOVE JENIS ice-cream, so we would indulge in some ice cream!! I also adore the downtown Smyrna Market Village where we’d grab some food or drink at TCT or Atkins Park. I love eating outside and downtown Vinings and Upper Westside shops and restaurants has a nice outdoor vibe with plenty of good eats to choose from. And omgoodess, I cannot forget my fav coffee spot, REV. But Café Comma has became a favorite too! I’m a huge sushi girl and moving here from Florida, well, I became a seafood snob! Its been difficult to satisfy my cravings! YIKES!! but the new Orient on Johnsons Ferry road has been a yummy go-to dinner and lunch spot! Although it may be a drive, I do love the Avalon up in Alpharetta and the outlets. Downtown Canton has grabbed my attention lately as well!! And of course I cannot forget to show them around the Marietta Square. Not to mention all the amazing breweries there are around here. Oh and downtown Woodstock is great for a little day trip. There is just so much to do. The possibilities are endless. I’m very grateful for that!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
In no special order I would like to shout out to: my hair mentor and stylists/spa colleagues back in Michigan (where I got my start over 16 years ago) especially my best friend and her mother. They always believed in me from the very beginning!! To all my friends, family members, and acquaintances for allowing me to practice on them back in my “kitchen hair” days! To all my brides over the years and salon clients, some amazing stylist coworkers and my o.g. clients who have continuously supported me, even though I may not even be living in the same state anymore. Of course, my parents and in-laws, my husband, and other family members for never questioning my adventurous crazy creative spirit! I’m so grateful for the Hilton/ Waldorf Astoria resorts, Disney, and a few more resorts along the Gulf Coast for allowing me to be part of their teams as I was jumping into the bridal industry head first back in the day! I want to thank all the wedding industry peeps and other creatives who have made a genuine effort to respect and support me as a professional partner here in Atl. I’ve met so many talented artists!! Lastly, I also would love to shout out to all the “not so good experiences” I’ve had over the years too, as humans, we just cannot avoid them. No matter how hard we all try. So thanks to all the people who took advantage of me, who overlooked my skills and spirit, and the doubters. It may sound crazy, but without those relationships or “lack of” I wouldn’t be where I am or who I am today!!
