Meet Elizabeth Morrison | Founder of The Fit Atlanta and Strategic Brand + Marketing Consultant

We had the good fortune of connecting with Elizabeth Morrison and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Elizabeth, is your business focused on helping the community? If so, how?
My business, The Fit Atlanta, is a fitness and wellness social club that is rooted in community. I started The Fit Atlanta originally in 2014 when I was a fitness competitor to connect other athletes, coaches, and gyms. In 2017, I expanded the brand to what The Fit Atlanta is known as today. Community is our CORE. Through The Fit Atlanta, people can connect with others who share the same interests in fitness and wellness, explore the incredible businesses that call Atlanta home, and spice up their fitness and wellness routines by trying new studios.
The Fit Atlanta Membership offers a welcoming, inclusive space for people who live in Atlanta to connect with each other, support local businesses who are our partners, to gain access to our virtual webinars and workshops featuring guest experts in wellness, health, and fitness, and to have fun and expand their social network, too!
My intention is that The Fit Atlanta serves as a conduit of connection, collaboration, and community through fitness and wellness in Atlanta. We support local businesses while providing a social community for locals to connect, explore, and enjoy the amazing people and businesses Atlanta has to offer. Being able to make an impact and create experiences in and around Atlanta where my family is from means the world to me.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I’m a Strategic Brand + Marketing Advisor and Consultant with 10+ years agency, corporate, and consulting experience. At the very beginning of my career I was thrown into the gauntlet of working directly with C-suite executives, CEOs, founders, managing marketing campaigns for Fortune 500 companies, and traveling the country producing media shoots. I have a degree in Marketing and studied Design at Savannah College of Art and Design.
I sit on the Global Marketing Team at a corporate technology company where I lead our brand, media, and creative marketing. Simultaneously, I’m manage my consulting business as a Marketing Advisor for fitness professionals and entrepreneurs + I’m the Founder of The Fit Atlanta, a fitness and wellness social club.
For example, I was turned down for a dream job by a global fitness brand years ago. I didn’t take this lightly. But instead of letting it stagnant me, I used it to light a fire under me. I used that energy to just create that dream job for myself… Now you’re looking at The Fit Atlanta.
I’m still learning and growing. I love what I do. I love helping fitness + wellness professionals and entrepreneurs build brands and create a freedom-based lifestyle while impacting their clients’ lives.
If someone is reading this and needs to hear it: Unapologetically stand in your confidence and power. Be brilliant. Inspire excellence. Embrace challenge. Get curious.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I live in Alpharetta, so naturally I would take them to Alpharetta City Center for food, shopping, live music–it’s a cool vibe to walk around and chill. I love Rena’s Italian Fishery and Grill at The Maxwell in Alpharetta–the fried cheese medallions, chicken parmesan, and butterscotch crème brulee are MUST TRYS.
I would take them to stroll the Beltline, chill on the Estrella Rooftop, check out Ponce City Market, go to dinner at Storico Fresco for the cacio e pepe pasta. Clearly I love to eat and especially Mexican and Italian food!
Cafe West Express is one of my favorite healthy spots for food, soups, and juices. The Garden Room is a good time for a unique experience and cocktail.
I’d also take them to North Georgia to hike Raven Falls and shop at Mountain High Outfitters for hiking gear before we go–I love the ON Cloud hiking boots from MHO.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I absolutely want to shoutout my family and best friend Gracie Perez for providing constant support and love throughout my entrepreneurial journey. It’s not easy creating and operating a business, and the support from them is so appreciated. I have also met the most incredible people through The Fit Atlanta who have become life-long friends and partners in encouragement. I specifically want to recognize Meg Armstrong who has always been a positive source of energy and breathes life into me. Branda Peterson (Alpharetta Housewives), and Dane Robinson (Fit Pro Game Plan), Megan Kober (The Nutrition Addiction), and Gem Munro have been there for me through highs and lows and are so supportive. Of course I could list hundreds of people! I’m grateful for my community to love to support, encourage, create, and collaborate alongside me.
