We had the good fortune of connecting with Elad Amrani and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Elad, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
For the entirety of my professional career I had been an employee and felt such a passion and drive to be entirely committed to whichever job position I was in at the time. Although, at the core I knew I had that entrepreneurial spirit that drove me to take up side projects on top of the regular work day jobs. Even though I was content with my regular job I always knew I was meant to be an entrepreneur and my passions lied in creating solutions to problems in the real world.

What really pushed me to venture out and take up my personal project full-time was when I actually starting building my house. I would scroll through Pinterest and Instagram for inspiration and would get excited about adding new features to my house, but the worst part about getting excited by these images was that I could never find the right person that could actually do the job or make the image inspo a reality. What at the time made me a bit frustrated and upset led me to realize the big opportunity there was in shopping visually and finding the vendors behind the inspo images that get posted all over social media. And when it came down to finding vendors that could do certain projects for my house, the old-fashioned lists and directories didn’t guarantee I would find the adequate vendor that would be the right fit for me based on my location and the type of work I wanted done–overall it was boring and time consuming. Not only did I want to come across great pictures, but I actually wanted them to become a reality and get in contact with the people that could do that for me.

That’s when my co-founder and I created the innovative, young-generation oriented platform to find vendors visually. In other words, Weddiz!

What should our readers know about your business?
Weddiz is a two-sided solution for when it comes to planning a wedding for both couples and vendors. On one side we bring a visual solution for wedding clients that are looking for the right wedding vendors. Couples are able to choose faster and easier by our smart visual search engine that shows them specifically what kind of vendors they are looking for and then allowing them to scroll through like a regular social media page; think Weddiz as the Pinterest + Yelp for wedding shopping. On the other side, we bring a solution for wedding vendors by having a platform where they can enlist for free and have direct communication with wedding clients on the same platform! The algorithm we use allows all vendors to have more visibility based on their content posted and generate more leads for them. Plus, we are offering a “one-post solution” where all you have to do is post once on Weddiz and that same post will automatically be posted on all your socials.

Although, nothing has been easy, but if it would’ve been easy then everyone would do it which would lessen the special value of being a part of a startup’s journey. But what made me continue with the startup was the following scenario: if I were to be 80 years old looking back at my life, would I have any regrets? And quite frankly, yes. I would’ve regretted not chasing my dreams and following my passions of being an entrepreneur. It doesn’t mean I wasn’t scared of the unknown journey, I was just more excited.

The challenges faced were more in terms of “are we actually bringing something new to the world?” and “how can we make people understand we have a good solution?”. Though we didn’t focus on the challenges because we didn’t look at them as challenges but rather converted them into tasks.

The overall lesson I learned is that I love what I do and that I still have much more to learn and many more people to meet–that’s what continues to keep me moving forward. And what I want the world to know is that at Weddiz we are truly a company that focuses on giving its customers the best solution that it can provide. We are fully dedicated and truly believe in the mission of connecting vendors and clients through the new era of social e=commerce.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
At the moment I don’t live in Atlanta but I do love to travel and enjoy good food. So I would be more like a tourist and enjoy the best parts that Atlanta has to offer with friends and family!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
In general I have a huge interest in growing and accumulating new knowledge, along with my experience which has allowed me to be in the position that I am today.

Two of my biggest inspirations derive from:

1. Think and get rich by Napolean Hill
2. 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey
