We had the good fortune of connecting with Eileen Carr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eileen, is there a quote or affirmation that’s meaningful to you?
God gave you those dreams for a reason, trust him. This is a quote I created because through daily prayer, asking God to show me what he wants me to do, I would constantly receive blessings (opportunities) to be a content creator. I had to remind myself God did not give me these thoughts, dreams, desires, and strong positive feelings for this if it was not meant for me.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
As a college content creator it was and still is difficult to balance creating, school, and personal life. Understanding how to pitch, market, and set prices for my service has also been difficult because as a microinfluencer/content creator a lot of opportunities have not been paid which was extremely discouraging at first. I know what sets me apart is me, sounds cliche, but I show people the real me, the struggle, the ups/downs, success, failures, tips, advice, my experience. I got to where I am today by always remaining true to myself, prayer, understanding that this is a journey that requires me to be patient and enjoy the process! I’ve learned that I have to consistently do what works for my life, I cannot expect to do what every other creator is doing. You do not have to hop on every trend that others are doing, the people you are meant to reach will be reached! I want to advocate for small/local businesses because they truly do not get enough recognition. Also advocating for those who are striving to break generational curses such as college students, as a first generation college student the process of learning about school, careers, adulthood, while also aspiring to help others is a huge responsibility that I proudly take on.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I currently reside in Dallas, Georgia, but I am constantly in Atlanta. I would start the day off at 404 Coffee in Atlanta to get breakfast before driving to Tallulah Falls. Tallulah Falls is 45 minutes from Atlanta, you can hike, admire nature and the beautiful waterfall. After that, stop by Xtractions, a vegan guyanese restaurant that does open mic, trivia and more.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My aunt gifted me a book, Steve Harvey: Act Like Success, Think Like Success. I read that book and it completely changed the dynamic of how I viewed my goals, manifesting, and hardworking. I read this book every year to reflect on my previous goals, acknowledging how far I’ve come. Atomic Habits by James Clear helped me tremendously change my mindset on healthy habits, building a productive schedule, and understanding the power in small steps that will lead you to your big steps. Lastly, the Proximity Principle by Ken Coleman allowed me to understand it is more than what you know, it is who you now, where you are placing yourself, and overall being intentional about what you want! Of course nothing is possible without God, my supportive family who saw my gifts before I did, and any brand that has given me a platform to speak or create content for them!
