We had the good fortune of connecting with Egypt Thomas and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Egypt, why did you decide to pursue a creative path?
The beauty in pursuing an artistic/creative career is the freedom it gives me to express myself and the excitement in seeing the creation come to life. It just comes so naturally!

I love how there’s no limitations or right or wrong way when it come to creating. I firmly believe in the saying “If you do what you love, it’ll never feel like work.”

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
When I started my business back in 2020, I thought I had to hone in on one talent, make it priority and that would be all I needed to do in order to be successful. The issue was, I am gifted in a lot of things and I was holding back all the creativity I needed to release and that the world needed to see.

I started my career as a balloon stylist and just recently added photography and set design to my business. While taking pictures for my balloon designs, I noticed I was actually staging the surrounding space that would also compliment the balloon creation.

This led me to invest in a better camera and other needed props. From that moment, I knew there was more I wanted to explore and offer to my clients. I could decorate their event, setup a selfie booth for their guests to enjoy and also serve as a photographer for the event.

My business, Events 2 Do, is all about understanding my clients needs and bringing their visions to life. And I believe I do just that by incorporating my multiple passions and withholding nothing.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My town is quite small and there’s not many places to go for fun, however, for a great meal we would start at Diana’s Cafe for some delicious fried green tomatoes and special sauce. From there, our state park would offer pleasing sights of lakes and trails with opportunities of fishing and boating.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My family and friends have made a huge impact in loving and supporting my dreams; no matter how big or how small. However, my most biggest cheerleader is my Grandmother.

Although, we live hundreds of miles apart, her love is felt through the distance. She has always gently pushed and encouraged me to be the absolute best version of myself and that mistakes in life doesn’t mean quit. Her wisdom is what I admire most of all and I only hope that I can continue to make her proud.
