We had the good fortune of connecting with Eddrick Davis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Eddrick, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I am from a small town called Union Springs, AL. where everyone knows everybody and the community is so tightly knit. Having been raised in the small town of Union Springs, motivated me to carry the mindset of ” I may be from a small town, but I possess the mindset of those in bigger cities.” Growing up, I always took vacations across the world with my family. So, I knew the world had more to offer than just one place. My parents were providers and work extremely hard to make sure my siblings and I had everything we could possibly ask for. The drive that they both possessed inspired me to work hard, be persistent, and to never be stagnant and go after the things that I want to achieve in life. With having the support system from my friends, family and community had impacted the person that I am today.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Professionally, I am employed with a well-renown IT company as a Software Implementation Analyst. What sets me a part from others is that outside of working in IT professionally, I also am a full-time content creator/ influencer. I attended Troy University where I obtained my bachelors degree in Global Business with a concentration Information Systems. I have also been blessed enough to be featured by brands such as Giorgio Armani, Express, Psycho Bunny, The Gasper Company, Trendhim just to name a few. That itself was a very proud moment for me! How I was able to get to where I am today was remaining persistent and staying positive and not allowing any negative thoughts to take over. No, it was not easy but I do feel as though having faith and a real support system along the way is what made the process a breeze. I feel as though people can make time for the things that they want. With working full-time in IT professionally and also being a social media influencer, time-management can be difficult but I had to learn that prioritization and consistency is what is going to get me further within my career. I know that social media can create a personal perception of you as an individual. I want the world to know that I am me, an authentic, intelligent, educated African American man that is goal driven and who enjoys life to the fullest.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting the area and I wanted to show them the best time ever, I would take them to Ponce City Market for the scenery and to create dope content, Little Five Points for the artistic aesthetics this area has, Colony Square for shopping, hiking at Roswell Falls. For night life, The Battery, Harold’s Chicken and Ice Bar, Edgewood just for a more laid-back chill vibe. And you know I can not leave out brunch! Most definitely Toast On Lenox, Milk & Honey, or Katch Kitchen & Cocktails.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
First and foremost, I want to give a special Shoutout to God for making all things possible, my parents for instilling hard work and dedication in me, my close friends and family who I look to for reassurance and their constructive criticism and who always motivate me to keep being persistent even in times where I feel discourage and want to give up, and lastly my supporters for always being actively engaged and encouraging me to create more!
