We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Morgan-Ellis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
It was May 2021, I had just had my second child and had some time off of work. I was sitting home with really nothing to do and I needed to find something that could generate income but I didn’t want it to feel like work. I had to really think what would genuinely make me happy at that time. My husband and I would host friends and family often, and I would find myself always making cocktails and naturally being the life of the party. It just made sense to turn my passion into my brand. I knew that if I wanted to make fun cocktails and bring the vibe to people, that it would only make sense to make it mobile. I got straight to work on researching how to get things started and by October 2021 I started taking my first bookings.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Get Flipped Atl is a mobile bartending experience. It a service where we bring the bar to you. We bring a set of professional and experienced bartenders to create a unique vibe. We are the party at the party. At every event, we are who the guests gravitate to, We provide the opportunity for the party host to host, while we take care of the rest. We come equipped with all of the bar essentials. We are most proud of the success of every single event we have been booked for so far. To get to where we are today, it took a lot of research and self promotion. I can honestly say it was not as challenging for me as i thought it would be. Each event so far has been a different learning experience. I have learned that each event that we are booked for is unique and requires its own experience from Flipped. We would love to continue servicing more birthday parties, baby showers, weddings, shop openings, etc.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
First things first, we’d have dinner and drinks at a rooftop in the city. I love a good ole lit Atlanta day party, so we would go see my brother Mr.Shott at Milanos and maybe end the day at Vods. We would take a stroll on the beltline and maybe pop into Colony Square for some good eats and catch a movie.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give a major major shout out to everyone who has booked Get Flipped Atl! So far my biggest supporters have been my village, my circle, the people who have come up with me like my family, old coworkers, high school friends, people that I would casually go out with, my instagram followers, friends of friends, and the list goes on. In particular, my husband, Francis Ellis and my sister, Kenya Morgan who have encouraged and assisted me along the way. People have gotten to know my personality and have naturally gravitated towards me while I have birthed flipped as a brand and it truly truly represents me. I genuinely appreciate every single person who has given me a shot, booked me, referred me, ordered a drink from me or supported me in any way. It has been a major attribute to the growth of Flipped.
