We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony McQueen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
Well when I noticed the impact a simple hairstyle/ haircut had on people. I love that they walk bit bit taller, smiled a bit bigger, and over all felt Better about themselves.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I truly believe my unorthodox approach and creative colors schemes. I try to stay outside the normal. Never afraid of being too this or too that. In my eyes it’s never too much color. I had the choice to be a Dallas Cowboy Cheerleader or be a cosmetologists. Learning that going into cheer was unlikely for me I decided to give my all into option b. I had to go out and learn as much as I could because I had plans on being the best in the hair color game. I didn’t have the biggest support system or all the proper resources. However quitting wasn’t and option for me. I learned that you have to keep getting up know matter how many times you get knocked down , no matter how many no’s, no matter those who doubt you. One thing about me is that I was blessed with a one of a kind skill. My authenticity and passion is what sets me apart. Anyone can put colors on hair but to change people lives with a simple hair appointment . Who can say they do that.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I would def start off with a hike in Stone Mountain, then GEORGIA AQUARIUM ,WORLD OF COCA -COLA or SIX FLAGS and the food spots are amazing so any one of the to finish it off.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Dakota Williams a hair stylist from ALABAMA. I was a shampoos assistant. He took the time to show me the tricks of the trade. Watching his clients faces after the reveal was Interesting and I wanted to learn more. He help lay the foundation for what I do today. Creative and kind he was a great inspirational person in my life .
