We had the good fortune of connecting with Ebony Curry and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ebony, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
My thought process behind starting “Ebonys Crowned Beauty”was to express my passion and creativity for hair. Doing hair has always been a passion of mines since the age of 12. Expressing my creativity through hair is definitely my happy place. I can proudly say, doing hair has been the only job I’ve ever had and I’m completely dedicated to my craft.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
Something that I think sets me apart from others, is my passion for hair. I strive to be a perfectionist. My main goal is to make sure my client is satisfied and pleased with my work. One thing that excites me the most, is seeing my clients reactions once I’m done servicing them. There reactions and feedback let’s me know I’m doing my job well, and that’s something I strive for daily. I got to where I am today, by staying dedicated and always finding new ways to perfect my craft. Don’t get me wrong, doing hair isn’t easy. You run into different personalities and energy on a regular. Some days I may be booked up completely with no breaks, to where there are some days I may not have not one head on the schedule. This is where balance, scheduling and budgeting takes place. All of these things was a learning process for me. “Ebonys Crowned Beauty” isn’t just a brand, it’s a life style. Every women wears a crown, I’m just here to help adjust it and make sure your feeling like the Queen you are born to be.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A few places I would take my best friend would first be to the High museum of art, it’s one of my favorite places to visit. Secondly, would have to be a visit to at least one hiking trail, and the one I would choose would be Bamboo Forest or the Ridge Nature Area. Thirdly would be food. One thing about Atlanta, there are so many options but a few of my favs are: Ms. Icey Kitchen and Bar, Trap Cafe, and The Crab Pot. All of these places have great customer service and wonderful experience.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to give all credit to God first! God has open up so many doors and brought so many blessings and opportunities my way, I can only help but be grateful and show my gratitude. Secondly I do have a big support team, my family, friends, and clients all support me and major ways and I’m forever grateful for them.
