We had the good fortune of connecting with E. L. Jones, Jr. and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi E. L., how has your background shaped the person you are today?
I was born in Battle Creek, MI, but I am grateful that my parents had the good sense to move to my dad’s hometown of Pensacola, FL, before I turned 5. My family background and being raised on the Gulf Coast had a huge impact on who I am today. I was raised to believe that I could do or be anything I wanted. Education and learning was pushed in my family. My family is one that rejects the notion of fear, so all things are possible. My upbringing equipped me to overcome the challenges I’ve faced and allowed me to persevere, despite setbacks.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I love creating beautiful photos and video projects. I’ve had the opportunity to capture the raw emotions of weddings and other events. I’ve done music videos and shot concerts. I have a gift for telling the story of the event, so that the viewer feels like they are experiencing the occasion. I got to where I am, through a lot of hard work and taking advantage of opportunities. I kept honing my craft, so that I would be ready for what came my way. I’ve learned that providing the best customer experience leads to great word of mouth advertising. Truly Blessed Media was born out of a desire to provide clients with professional media services, that help them grow their business and nonprofit organization.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If I had a friend come in to visit Atlanta, there are a few spots I’d make sure to get to. Ponce City Market would be high on the list. The food and shopping there is awesome, then there is The Winery for entertainment. Another stop would be the Aquarium and Coca-Cola museum. We would definite get our grub on at Old Lady Gang, Paschal’s, and Busy Bee’s. We’d also hang out downtown and at The Battery.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to shout out my wife, Natasha. She is a driving force in my success.
