We had the good fortune of connecting with Dynez Dennis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dynez, what is the most important factor behind your success?
The most important factor behind my success is remaining true to my original mission. Often times you may get sidetracked and discouraged because things are not progressing as swiftly as you would like. However, remaining true to yourself and never forgetting your “why” ( why you started, why you wanted to do this). It will take you far on your journey to success.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I have many hats and have been blessed with great talents. At the top of the list is the music. Music is my passion, my lifeline here on this crazy earth (next to the Almighty *praying hands). My journey hasn’t always been a smooth ride, so many no’s, a million opinions, but through it all I have been relentless and always consistent. What I feel sets me apart from other artists is my unyielding love for my craft. I love to sing, I love creating music and telling stories with my songs in hopes of saving lives with my words. I got my start at young age singing in the church, and professionally as a background singer in my teen years. What I am most proud of is building my name, a name with integrity, class, and a self awareness that is unlike anyone else. As I stated before it has not been easy, at all. I’ve had opportunities in front of top label execs and was passed while my voice was used to enhance someone else’s career, and that was before 15. No matter what, I have never lost focus and to this day I’m still going and getting better everyday. I want people to know that you are not going to be for everyone, and thats ok. If you can touch just one person then you’ve truly won.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
When my friend comes in town, everything is shutting down! LOL. I’m talking Five Points shopping, Soul Vegetarian eating, Krog Street tunnel photo shoot slash music video making. A must do is to tour the film location spots, my bestie is a an actor so thats right on their level. For the finale….SHOTS! SHOTS! SHOTS! Go to sleep and we’re doing it all over again.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
As cliche as some might think. The most influential person in my career has been my mother. My mother has always been in my corner motivating me, and constantly inspiring me to be a better, a Greater me. The support that has been extended by her has been invaluable and I’m eternally grateful, because it hasn’t always been easy out here.
