We had the good fortune of connecting with Dwayne Ellis Jr and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dwayne, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Personally my 1st jobs were a passion of mine but didn’t pay well. I wanted to create a business that I loved doing & was profitable at the same time.

What should our readers know about your business?
Starting my brand I wanted to encourage anyone paying attention to me. I can honestly say my personal brand still has a way to go but I have protégés that are growing at a solid rate. Nothing in my life has been easy & the challenges will continue but being resilient is important. I want people to know my brand is always willing to share resources, encourage others & spread love amongst all within my culture.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Visiting Atlanta is so many options to enjoy yourself. I would take them to eat at Southern Queenz in kirkwood, Handle Bar & Edgewood pizza & Escobar seafood in old 4th ward. I would take them shopping at Versus ATL, Hwy 85 Sneaker Shop & Cumberland mall. We will enjoy the nightlife at Escobar on Peter street, Hendrix in old 4th ward & Lyfe nightclub.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My parents always supported everything I loved doing that was positive. They encouraged me to chase all dreams & gave personal advice.
