We had the good fortune of connecting with Dustin DAB Bowie and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dustin, do you have some perspective or insight you can share with us on the question of when someone should give up versus when they should keep going?
If your truly passionate about something, and its your life, you would never give up on it.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
As an artist and a songwriter sometimes its hard to navigate a path to success. A lot of obstacles stand in the way whether it be financial, legal or many other issues, there is a lot to discourage the creative artist. I have practiced my craft and I perform at a master level. In order to obtain success, I continued to get better and learn more about the industry I wanted to be a big part of. By connecting with others who shared the same interests as me, it gave me strength. Not only was I able to collaborate with these people and be connected to their networks, we also supported each other through tough times. This industry is made of people and its a good thing to have good people by your side.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If a friend of mine was visiting ATL I would def take them to EAV to grab some food and a drink. We would go out to Buford hwy the next day to experience a few other cultures. Cant come to Atl with visiting a strip club and going to Waffle House. Im always in the studio so they would def have to pull up there at least once.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
