We had the good fortune of connecting with Duo Catanza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Duo, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
We are both music teachers and performers. Sharing music with others is what drives us to teach and perform.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
We are a classical style guitar duo. Our goal in programming concerts is to play music that we enjoy and audiences will appreciate. We speak about each piece we perform and give a perspective on the composer and the music performed. We want the audience to feel that they understand what they are listening to and we are happy to provide any insight we can into the music. Including the audience in our program is very important to us.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Depending on their tastes, we would probably stop by some of the live music performances at local establishments. We have friends that perform in jazz, rock, etc, groups.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Our families have always been very supportive. (Scott) my wife Deirdre deserves a lot of credit for her constant support of my efforts in music.
