We had the good fortune of connecting with Drayghun and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Drayghun, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?

My thought process behind starting my own business was first, freedom. Freedom to do as I wish and create with no boundaries. My next thought was this, the opportunities I wasn’t given, I will create to give to others. I simply believe there’s enough to go around for everybody and why not have a business that exemplifies this. The last thought and the most important thought was and still is, generational wealth. The next generation within my family must live in abundance, peace and comfort. They must also know that they are to pay it forward. Each one teach one.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?

I am first a music artist, second a painter, third an author and fourth a fashion designer. My music has been absolute therapy and I’ve used it to transmute situations that had the potential to take me down a dark path. I am most excited about the progress I’ve made as a music artist and proud that I’ve stayed original and authentic to my sound. When it comes to my art, my paintings are one of a kind. I only sell originals that are 1 of 1. There are no prints of my paintings because of the style I create. So, if you have one of my pieces in your possession, count yourself extremely lucky! I am proud to say I am an unusual artist and can’t wait to share my creativity with the world! Now when it comes to me being an author this is something I am both proud and excited about. I am a first time author and I’m most excited about sharing my personal insights that have helped me throughout life. It’s a book to be enjoyed, shared and the intention for writing my book was and will always be to inspire others. So for the fashion, stay tuned that’s all I have to say! Was it easy achieving all this? NO, absolutely not. How I overcame the challenges was by encouraging myself and surrounding myself with those individuals who believed in and genuinely supported my endeavors. A lot of meditation and affirmations works wonders as well! One major lesson I learned was don’t depend on others to comprehend your vision when their vision isn’t 20/20. You were given the lens that fit your eyes and it’s useless in trying to have others fit your prescription. They’ll be constantly squinting their eyes to decipher the image but it will never be clear to them. It will only be sharp and clear to you and your responsibility is to make sure you regularly upgrade your prescription so the image of your vision remains crystal clear. Another major lesson I’ve learned along the way is to NEVER GIVE UP. When I started my journey I purposely tattooed “Never Give Up” on my arm because I knew the journey would be tumultuous. What I would like the world to know about me and my brand is that it has been built to give peace, faith, clarity and rare entertainment to an ever changing world. Curio Giorgio is here to inspire others to lead and live a rare entertaining life in your own way. Let’s all thrive.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?

I have to and must say my favorite place in the entire city is Rocksteady. It is a Restaurant/Loungue in the Midtown. The food (Caribbean style), drinks, atmosphere is electric. You’re sure to have a good time and the entire staff know how to make you feel right at home. Now bear in mind as an artist I spend ALOT of time creating so I rarely go out but when I do Rocksteady is my jam. Next would be Marietta Diner, I recently stumbled upon this gem and it does not disappoint. If you’re looking for a place that has great food, the atmosphere is light and chill AND it’s 24 hours, this is your spot. Now besides restaurants and lounges I do like nature and I like to hike. East palisades trail is a chill spot, the water is right next to the trails, there are nooks and crannies where you can set up a hammock and vibe, this is where I go to reconnect and ground myself. If there are any other places as I explore Atlanta that I can put you onto, I will inform you of them but as for now, these places are at that top of my list.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

I would like to give a shoutout to family, friends and most important God. Family and friends have taught me what to accept and what not to accept. God has been the ultimate support in my journey. and has built my faith in incredible ways. I would also like to give the Military (Army) a big shoutout for giving me the ability to have discipline, integrity, loyalty and bravery in the face of so many battles in becoming my best self. No man is an island all by himself we need others. Every person that has come and gone has absolutely contributed towards me becoming the person I am today. So, I thank you all! I am grateful.
