We had the good fortune of connecting with Dr. Teaa Allston-Bing and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dr. Teaa, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
I founded Touched by Teaa Makeup with the purpose of illuminating the beauty and confidence that already exists within each of my clients. My goal has always been to create a meaningful, personalized, and unforgettable experience that not only enhances their appearance, but also empowers them from the inside out.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Touched by Teaa Makeup is built on genuine connections, with many of my clients becoming loyal, repeat customers who feel more like family. I take pride in delivering a fulfilling and thoughtful makeup experience, grounded in care for each client’s skin and a shared excitement for their final look. I believe what makes me relatable is that I’m not just an artist, I’m also a makeup wearer who understands the joy and confidence that comes from seeing a look come to life, both for my clients and myself.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting metro Atlanta for the week, I’d definitely want them to experience the soul, style, and energy that makes this city so special. Here’s how we’d do it:

Day 1: Welcome to ATL
We’d kick things off with brunch at Atlanta Breakfast Club near Centennial Park—think shrimp & grits and peach cobbler French toast. After that, we’d stroll through Ponce City Market and hop on the Atlanta BeltLine for a walk filled with art, people-watching, and cute local shops. Dinner would be rooftop-style at 9 Mile Station, with skyline views and cocktails to celebrate their arrival.

Day 2: Classic Atlanta Vibes
We’d explore civil rights history at the National Center for Civil and Human Rights, then walk to the Georgia Aquarium, one of the largest in the world. Lunch would be at Busy Bee Cafe for classic Southern comfort food. That evening, we’d hit up Old Lady Gang in Castleberry Hill for good food, great vibes, and a little celebrity spotting.

Day 3: Nature & Neighborhood Charm
Morning yoga or a peaceful walk at Piedmont Park, followed by coffee at Dancing Goats. We’d explore Little Five Points in the afternoon, vintage shops, murals, and music galore. Dinner? Tacos and margaritas at Superica in Krog Street Market. We’d cap the night with speakeasy vibes at Red Phone Booth.

Day 4: Day Trip & Chill
We’d take a break from the city with a relaxing day trip to Stone Mountain Park or Chattahoochee River Tubing. Picnic lunch, sunshine, and great views. Back in town, we’d grab dinner at South City Kitchen in Midtown for a modern take on Southern cuisine.

Day 5: Art & Culture
We’d check out the High Museum of Art, then head over to West Midtown for boutique shopping and creative spaces like The Goat Farm Arts Center. For dinner, we’d dress up and go to Marcel for a luxe steakhouse experience.

Day 6: Foodie Friday
We’d do a food crawl, starting with breakfast at Le Petit Marche, then hitting up Slutty Vegan for lunch, and ending with Twisted Soul Cookhouse & Pours for dinner. We’d close the night with music and dancing at The Battery Atlanta or Pasha.

Day 7: Easy Sunday
We’d attend Sunday Service at Bread of Life Community Church where my husband is the Pastor and always has a good word. Next we’d to keep it light with gospel brunch at Milk & Honey, followed by a spa treatment or mani/pedi at Iwi Fresh. Our last stop would be a sunset visit to SkyView Atlanta or Jackson Street Bridge for those perfect skyline selfies.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
When I attended Industry Makeup Academy for my certification, I had the most attentive, patient and knowledgeable instructor, Renelyn Thomas. If it weren’t for her encouragement of me to finish strong I don’t know if I would have created Touched by Teaa Makeup. I was her sole student because of the pandemic, but she still provided me with top tier instruction. She deserves all the credit and recognition for what I’ve been able to accomplish in the makeup industry.
